Just discovered this thread, might as well leave a mark here..
I'm Eric, from Jakarta, Indonesia. Majoring in Computer Science, my strong area is networking, infrastructure & security. Works for Australian bank in Jakarta and running family business as well. A late motorsport fans (started when i was 16-17?), just discovered that my dad used to do some national level of racing but kept me out of it as he sees no future of motorsport in our country (which came out true).
Start following F1 since 2005/6, fav drivers is Kimi, his style, philosophy, etc just love it and quite similar wtih mine. except the drinking part. haha. Like Massa, Kobayasahi, Button, Alonso as well. Dislike Hamilton (never seen him as a WDC), actually starting to like him at the beginning of the year, but again lost respect to him throughout the season.
I do few drag races, touring and sprint rally under the name of my workshop. Motor racing, especially car racing, in my country doesnt have many enthusiast. Many people love to modify their car or simply bought sports/racing car but they never "exercise" with them on the track (maybe on the highway or public road, and it often just for showoff. eg;convoy).
The mindset of auto-enthusiast is quite different here

I sometimes envy those who can afford sports car, or fit branded performance parts on their car, but never been race or simply get to test it to the track (poor car). Fortunately, my workshop (and most of its customers) have quite a different philosophy, appreciate and love motor racing too. It is one of the best in the country as well. So I get the chance to race for them using the car available. Usually its a 2nd hand car from the professional racer who happens build their car at the workshop. When regulation changes and they have to build a new car, they just kept the old one and let us (amateurs) to use it responsibly. Or it is one of my friends who's willingly share their car to see how good the car on the hand of different driver.
The motorsports event is not rewarding as well, lack of spectators = lack of sponsors. so the prizes are sometimes just enough to cover fuel+paddock tent rent
that's all from me, have been reading a lot in this forums and learnt lots of technical stuff, point of views from fans, motor racing stories&background.love it
