According to some media on track, Vasseur said Leclerc won't be in FP2...

When was the last time a FP1 crash caused a driver to miss all of FP2?

Not sure about FP1 to FP2 but FP3 to quali can happen… maybe ask the Williams team?

Leclerc potentially to miss FP2:

Damn, couldn't follow the session live, but it didn't look that bad on the photos. Was the rear excessively damaged?

They said they need more time to check the chassis for damage.

Think Leclerc described it as only clipping the wall

To be honest I didn’t really see it myself just saw damaged to the front and the rear corners on one side

Oh that's insane if they can't make FP2. That really strikes me as poor from the team, as most others seem to be able to repair in time.

The most annoying thing is, while it was clearly early days and maybe Charles was pushing more than most, he looked like he might actually have some pace.

I'm guessing they think it would be legitimately dangerous to do a rush repair job...

It is unfortunate, it's extremely rare for this to happen, and I agree the hit didn't look that big. But they would know better than we do.

Leclerc has bounced back from these sorts of situations on many occasions. He is rarely all that tarnished in ultimate performance from lack of practice running.
