There is a good chance of rain during the race, could spice things up.
would be interesting if we get some rain, but it looks far more likely to come after the race, as far as I can see?!

Looking at the met office weather, it says pretty much no chance of rain? unless I'm looking at a different Monza

I'm really looking forward to see how similar race pace is to qualy pace (as in the order) . only difference in the opening laps is the weight of the car. some may be better while heavy. Mercedes will surely want to open a small gap early on to keep clear of DRS

Come on now, it's been a long time since spa 2012 when he took two world champions out in a single corner.

Rain is forecasted for the late afternoon. The race is pretty short, so it will most likely not rain during the race.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

I think there are at least 3 major differences. The weight as you suggest, the cars will be around 100kg, 15%, heavier. The ES consumption, in qualy they start the lap with bit less than 4MJ of SOC and end it with 0, in the race they will need to have some of that left after 2 laps. The tyres, at the end of a qualification lap the tyres can be right on their upper temperature limit, in the race they can’t.

The drivers(s) up front can focus on managing these things in a similar way to qualy , the drivers behind will also have to contend with dirty air and suboptimal lines. I expect field spread to develop in the normal way.

So the big question for this afternoon: will Hamilton do an ok job with his tyres and win the race or will he do an amazing job with the tyres and have a pitstop advantage?
Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. - Vettel

I don't know if it was just a case of pumping himself up but Bottas stated yesterday that his race pace in practice was very competitive with Hamilton, I hope for our sake he's right.

This is the first race on one engine mode, let’s see how it goes. Even if it is a bit of an outlier circuit.

Having to run engine that high in race (otherwise yesterday wouldn't be record-breaking), the drivers surely will have to do A LOT more fuel saving in the race, won't they? That doesn't sound good since the mode ban was to encourage tighter races.

Can one of the midfield hold off the Red Bulls for a bonus podium? Or is the RBR race pace a little too hot?
