Russel ABSOLUTELY, VERY CLEARLY, braked extremely hard and then made a very silly radio call that he was overtaken.
they didnt in miami sprint, they need to show that they are consistent
George was right up the rear of the SC, suddenly there was 10 car lengths. George braked he's probably argue keeping tyre/brake temps up but he certainly braked.
Yes, and I think that driving erratically like braking extremely hard during safety car can be penalized.Rikhart wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 22:07Russel ABSOLUTELY, VERY CLEARLY, braked extremely hard and then made a very silly radio call that he was overtaken.
Indeed will take that P2 today, finally a good results after some weeks..venkyhere wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 22:17What were the track temps ? 50+ C ? Moreover, the grain of the tarmac is 'too smooth' -> low grip. Lots of sliding with lower wing level. Mercedes nailed the setup for their car, and most importantly, their rear suspension upgrade worked like a dream. It was purely down to strategy brilliance (avoiding on track wheel to wheel battles and not trying to stretch the life of weakening tyres even by 1 lap) and quali brilliance, that Max finished P2. Race pace for the first two stints was slower than both Mercedes, both McLarens and LeClerc (?), IIRC.
P2 today for Max on a track with completely unsuitable conditions for the RB21's tyres, is almost a 'win'. Imagine if he had qualified P5-P6 or lower. Would've never made up positions.
Ill help you out....
As I posted yesterday, Russel revels in 'baiting' Max. He would never leave a chance to cop him that final penalty point. Nothing wrong with that, it's all part of the 'gamesmanship' of F1. Just saying. I was not at all surprised. If Max is the brutally honest unpolished bully, Norris the sweet talking assassin, Piastri the emotionless mute sniper, Russel is the snake politician. They all have different ways of playing their 'games'.
Happens all the time. Why moan about it now?Rikhart wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 22:07Russel ABSOLUTELY, VERY CLEARLY, braked extremely hard and then made a very silly radio call that he was overtaken.
Over the finish line?Cs98 wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 22:07No need to lie to me mate, I've seen the onboard and telemetry and he slams the brakes hard in that moment.
As for just following over the finish line, at that point they didn't know if the race was going to be restarted or not so they were all working the tyres. Hence why Russell was waving his arms trying to make the SC go faster right before that erratic brake test.
Is there a point in there? Btw, what happened to "Russell didnt brake and kept a steady pace"Quantum wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 22:39Over the finish line?Cs98 wrote: ↑15 Jun 2025, 22:07No need to lie to me mate, I've seen the onboard and telemetry and he slams the brakes hard in that moment.
