agreed!
All the rumors of says Alonso is going to Ferrari, while Fisichella has always been the #2 driver in his Renault days. Now, dream come true for Fisi as he is now a Ferrari Driver.

The poor guy's just been too loyal and too settled-down as a tester for Ferrari. He left his racing skills rusting... Maybe he could blame himself for that. The unfortunate situations with Felipe and Michael is just very bad timing. I assume he'd be happy to just sit on the Ferrari bench forever, but fate caught him off-guard and that's just tough luck.

Fisi is not the quickest man out there but at least he could drive comparable lap times. But, dude, an Italian driving a Ferrari in Monza! What else can you ask for? I wish him the best of luck - he'll need it.
Hard on Luca? Seriously? He got paid to be a test driver for 10 years by the most famous F1 team with absolutely no talent... He's gotten away with robbery. Loyal? He was probly just happy to have a job as a test driver, given his talent level he should have been pushing brooms at Monza, not testing the car.

It does not take race craft to get a Q3 car higher up than the last grid spot... didnt Varsha say that some of the GP2 cars qualed faster than him in Valencia?

He should be thanking Fisi & Mallya for saving him from further embarrassment, maybe he should gift them one of those FErrari's in his garage that he stole, err I mean was given by the team.

With the test ban what the hell was he doing all season? Wasnt there a Ferrari Le Mans team somewhere he could run a few laps for? Or were they too interested in winning to install his slow ass?

One of his first tasks on Thursday was to climb straight into the cockpit of the red single seater so that technicians could begin to modify the seat and controls to his liking.

Does anyone know for sure if they pay thier bills, because I've not heard or read anything about them not doing so? And with all of Vijays money, why do they not pay them? If that's the case.
There was a an article in F1 racing a fair while ago which did go over the teams and how quickly they were paying bills and it was quite surprising but I don't remember the more useful facts but if anyone knows/remembers the article...

So will there be three test/reserve drivers at Ferrari next year? How will this work exactly?

And will in-season testing be allowed? Otherwise Fisichella's role will be just like Badoer and Gene's at the moment.

It's strange how he'd rather live the dream of driving/testing for Ferrari than actually racing for another team.

Yes, quite right!

Just warming up the bench isn't life for a race driver.

Fisichella has one chance to win the Italian GP in a Ferrari in his lifetime. There are few Italians who have achieved that and if he succeeds he will be a legend in his country. The last man to do it was Alberto Ascari 60 years ago. Winning in Brazil or in a Jordan is nothing for the Tifosi. He is going for a chance of fame here. Quite a brave move in my view.

4 if you include Michael Schumacher as well.

BUT, If BMW dont sell Sauber they (Ferarri) will need to supply a third car for at minimum 2 races next year, as there is a provision to this as i am lead to belive that the new minimum ammount of cars on the grid is 26, as the new maximum is 26 as well, and this is written into the concorde aggreement for all the established teams (Current 9 teams excluding BMW Sauber) to provide 3 cars at races next year if they are required to do so.

Hence why i think Fisi has been chosen, as he will be the third driver in what would be the number 34 car, going by current constructor standings. I think that he would be ideal for this role as well.

Sorry to contradict you, but the last Italian to win at Monza was Ludovico Scarfiotti. He also won it on a Ferrari 312 (one of the most beautiful racing cars ever made).
I am not amazed by F1 cars in Monaco. I want to see them driving in the A8 highway: Variable radius corners, negative banking, and extreme narrowings that Tilke has never dreamed off. Oh, yes, and "beautiful" weather tops it all.

Oops, I must have overlooked Ludovico. My bad! It is still an awefull long time since 1966 and an achievement worth going for.
