Lewis Hamilton controlled the Hungarian Grand Prix from start to finish, enjoying the protection of his team mate from a charging Ferrari duo. Bottas eventually failed to keep the Ferrrari duo behind on ageing tyres, allowing Vettel and Raikkonen to complete the podium.
Everyone comparing Bottas to Kimi, please stop doing it. Everyone knows Kimi is the rear gunner, meanwhile everyone at Mercedes claims Bottas is not. Bottas said on Thursday that there is no plan for him to play the support role, yet today happened.
It's really annoying for me to see a driver as skillful as Kimi in that role, despite the fact that on many track he was as fast if not faster than Vettel. Regarding Bottas tbh I think he was slower today, even if Merc intend was to use him as a rear gunner or so.
Clumsy from Bottas with a last ditch effort to keep his nose in it. But you also have to wonder why on earth Vettel pinched him like that. The place was his by a mile even if he gave a car and a half up the inside. We see time and time again outside line on that corner is great for overtaking.
Typical VET shave, but BOT could not let go. Should not have tried.
He couldn't help it with the old tyres and having that door close so harshly.

Bottas couldn't have done anything other than what he did. He had to pit when he did to cover kimi. Then tried to make the tyres last until the end. What could he/merc have done different? ?
Stop him one more time to cover Raikkonen again? He could have finished 3rd at least. But they used him to slow Vettel down.
No. Pitting him would give up 2nd. What they did almost paid off, he nearly had 2nd.
They should not have tried that after what happened in Silverstone.
What a wonderful win for Mercedes, with Ferrari having the quickest car and a supremely hot track temperature that's been Mercedes' albatross, they still manage to produce a commanding win. I can't even begin to comprehend how it all went wrong for them today.
Bottas driver of the day IMO. Incredible how time and time again Vettel simply has no perception of anything behind his helmet when the desperation sets in.
It was Vettel's fault for the accident with Bottas.
Before, or after valtteri locked up and hit seb?
Racing incident. But it isn't all Bottas, Seb moved his car directly into the air ahead of Bottas and disrupted his downforce under braking, not as aggressive as Verstappen on Danny Ric, but the same affect, Bottas was always going to struggle to keep it under control with just inches separating them under braking.

I think Mercedes were playing for the 1-2, not 1-3, 1-4 or 1-5. That#s why BOttas was tyre saving early in his second stint. It almost worked too.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.
If Mercedes lead 1-2 after the first lap, with Hamilton in front of Bottas, I fully expect Bottas to start going really slowly to build a buffer for Hamilton later in the race.
25 points for me.
Ferrari screwed both drivers this time with poor pit stops.

Thats how i saw it. Track position on this track is king.

It looks like Kimi set the rules of engagement @ Silverstone, and after that race Bottas was apparently told to give no quarters if it ever came down to a wheel to wheel with Vettel. It was something very uncharacteristic for Bottas to do. With those tires, he normally wouldn't have pushed his luck that far imho.

Education is that which allows a nation free, independent, reputable life, and function as a high society; or it condemns it to captivity and poverty.
