The denial of the need for Newey from Fred and some fans is absolutely beyond comprehension.
McLaren have the best car and they don't have Newey.

It'll be interesting to see how he does at Austin Martin, I suspect he won't have the success many are anticipating...
Obviously at Aston Martin, Newey has the authority to reshape the Aston Martin technical structure as he sees fit. Such as recruiting the ex-Red Bull chief simulator engineer back from Apple.
This is of course simply not possible at Ferrari, where the team structure is fixed (seemingly) yet team principals and technical directors are fired for under performance anyway!

I think if they manage to transform the SF25 into a race winning car they will probably renew his contract
That would be a waste of time and money, apart from parts like suspension and brake drums which can be reused in 2026!
Even the 2026 season should set reasonable targets. Ferrari's external and internal pressure to win ASAP all the time is not helpful in the slightest IMO.

But they should have dug deep and prioritised getting Adrian. Or even trying to get whoever is leading the current McLaren cars development.
Andrea Stella had the authority to overhaul the entire team's way of designing and engineering a car. A Team Principal being able to do that at Ferrari, i.e. a Team Principal more powerful than the company board, is surely
completely unacceptable to Ferrari, no?
The board learnt their lesson about Todt and Brawn becoming too powerful and having too much influence. Such situation was completely unacceptable to the board, and cannot be repeated. On track success is unimportant if the board is being
undermined by lesser employees like team principals and technical directors!

I will say, despite the operational strides, there still seems to be a bit of an issue on the factory/technical side of things, and I don't get the impression Vassuer has done much from a
structural/personnel standpoint to address those things.
Why would Vassuer be allowed to do anything about that?! That's not the Ferrari way.
