I know they are trying to maintain the distance to Stroll... The question is, would be worth to push on the Hards and do an effective 2 stop race? If the pace is there and with one of shortest pitlane times, might be an interesting option.PhillipM wrote:Not really, he's trying to get those tyres to last to the end without another stop, he's gotta do pretty much an entire race on them.SmallSoldier wrote: ↑09 Jun 2019, 20:42Sainz finally picking up the pace and lapping in the low 1.17’s... It was surprising that he was just matching Giovanazzi’s lap times
Team does seem to think they are going to the end.Darth-Piekus wrote: ↑09 Jun 2019, 20:53We shal see. I hope we are gonna go to the end and hope for those in front to go for one more.
17 seconds... The question is if they could open that gap that much and close to Gasly and come out with Medium tires... The problem is that they do that, they miss the opportunity to pass Stroll when he pits.chrisgr wrote:Sainz is 12secs in front of Kvyat. how much a pit stop costs? and even if he is behind him, he could attack with fresh mediums.
Gasly is stuck behind Stroll... That’s why... Gasly just tried to make the pass on Stroll unsuccessfully.dr_cooke wrote:Sainz consistently outpacing Gasly now. Good pace, as I assume he is still nursing the tyres
Yes, he’s falling behind now. He may have to pit againSmallSoldier wrote: ↑09 Jun 2019, 21:11Gasly is stuck behind Stroll... That’s why... Verstappen lapping really slow in the last few laps

Well... Right now Stroll is lapping about half a second faster than Sainz... But, Sainz could be just saving the tires for when he might actually need it... The gap (4 seconds) seems to have stabilized a little bit in the last couple of laps.Darth-Piekus wrote:I was wrong. We seem to be able to hold that 9th after all. Or not?We shal see.
