Scuderia Ferrari SF90

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

AFAIK cars are completely stripped and rebuilt between races, so all paint is removed and re-applied.

Think I've seen this in a RB documentary.
Oh yea i know that, but they aren't stripped and repainted between sessions at the track. So the build up of grime from all the practice sessions could effect their performance at qualifying.

I haven't seen any other source for this rumor by the way, was hoping someone on here would know more perhaps but seems not :)
This seems like it could easily be a real problem for them. How much the dirty car truly impacts things other than aesthetics I don't know, but if this forces them to go back to a proper glossy paint job, so much the better!

This matte paint looks horrible.
I remember we wouldn't clean the rear wing flaps during sessions, Only the end plates. The aero guys liked the minuscule specs of dirt on the wings as it Helped to keep airflow attached or more consistent apparently.

Isn't that set of sparks trailing off the right outside corner...the opposite corner of where the car should be bottoming on a right hander. :wtf:

Unless the front left damper got stuck at extension, I believe. Or a right rear spring failure.

Sky Sport IT is reporting Ferrari found the cause of the crash. They suspect a broken front left rim due to impact with an unidentified object

The car was running new rear rims, anything new on the fronts?

Unidentified object? It was Bottas, behind the grassy knoll, with a rifle taking pot shots!

Besides the 3 new deflectors, the biggest slot, just in front of the tire, is gone with the new floor.

Vettels left tyre banged or the rim broke... That's all that caused the crash.
