I know, think I’m still riding the Silverstone wave like a fan boy

Still can’t believe the season Mclaren are having =D>

Do you reckon they will add more downforce for tomorrow's wet race?

Its looking very wet for the race tomorrow too by the forecast so there will have to be setup changes.

So maybe interesting to see what change are made for quality.

In 2024, I would have no doubt that with the pace shown today they can easily win against Verstappen. Just split the strategies and use the pace the car has.

Problem in 2025 is that it is unlikely they will split the strategies. They seem to be unwilling to do that because it would favor one of the drivers so we get Japan situation where they followed Verstappen into the pits.

Hopefully we can avoid that tomorrow. It would not be smart to leave any chance of Verstappen making a comeback.
We’ve talked about this before. I say they offer the split strategy option in hope to win the race to the driver who is directly behind the rival they want to beat if that driver doesn’t want it then the driver who is second on the road should be offered the same option

Its not luck to set up a car. It was a victory though based on that sole straight line and that is all. Lets not pretend he did anything special. Another confirmation that these rules are a joke so far when we see a car with DRS not able to follow.
You talk as if the car drives on rails. Just with higher top speed from max. Less df most likely means he has to be more careful with his tires.
It’s well done to max for doing exactly what he needed to do. And then keep his head down focusing on nailing every exit that matters.

This gets me exited for the qualify and the race. Hoping for a tight one with a good McLaren outcome :)

Credit should be given where credit it's due but top speed played a major role today. 15 KM difference is no small thing to ignore.

Agree with this.

I think it was an extremely solid drive by Max under pressure of a quicker car. I wouldn't go as far as saying as some RBR/Max fans have said that he schooled Oscar Max is a racing god not in this race anyway. But placing the car in the right places lap after lap as he did to keep Oscar behind - who if he passed I think would have driven off into the distance easily enough I think it was a had to be done on the opening lap kinda move. Much longer and I suspect Oscar builds a big enough lead driving as well as he is to keep the straight line speed of Max at bay.

Anyway will be interesting to see the changes made for quali and the race tomorrow.

The forecast I gave seen say its between 80-90% chance of rain, and it seems to be right around race time to be at its worst with a few mm falling in that period (forecast saying 3.7mm 2pm)

So the team is forced to use high downforce just like the rest will do also. Is Red Bull without a high downforce wing?

I am sure RBR have a higher DF rear wing there somewhere.. I did see Vanja say on twitter though Spa you can get away with a lower DF setup compare to Silverstone in rain. But would imagine RBR would want to make some changes and am sure McLaren have that well in hand too.

I think Mclaren will run the same wing as used in the sprint. The only team who has to gamble is Red Bull

Qualifying time. Good luck to both drivers and let's hope for an 1-2 this time.
