Valtteri Bottas lead the Austrian Grand Prix from start to finish, but it was behind him that all the action happened. Multiple retirements and collisions caused just 11 cars at the finish, with Leclerc and Norris surprisingly joining Bottas on the podium.

Zero chance you said?

He has a history of such statements playing RBR up. If only such statements could power the car.
McLaren is impressive! Good, steady progress through last 18 months. With Mercedes engine from 2021, they most likely are looking set for the second best team in 2021. Mountain to climb for Ferrari and Honda to regain the lost power.
What a disaster Ferrari has turned out to be. How was that they never calculated the repercussions of getting caught while playing the excess fuel burning. It appears that they have spent past 2 years just getting that trick right and with that gone, they are back to 2017 levels of power. Massive mistake!

Another inter Mercedes world championship! I have been watching F1 since 1994 and I've not seen such excellence ever. It needs to be applauded.
Honestly, I'm not in the least surprised about Ferrari. They have never had a plan of any sort to overhaul Mercedes right since 2015. The consistent chopping and changing of key personnel has been there for everyone to see. With that sort of insecurity looming, the results are inevitable. Honestly, I was on about this from the moment Arrivabene was sacked. Ross Brawn who was an ex Ferrari chap lay the foundation for this, Aldo Costa who was also a Ferrari man led the charge in the hybrid era and now it's James Allison.
What has truly surprised me about 2020 is the form of the Red Bull. They have always seemed to be able to match Mercedes in all departments bar the PU and while that seemed to be narrowing last year, something has again widened the gap. 0.5 seconds on such a short track is nothing short of abysmal. The Ferrari nightmare makes Red Bull look "OK" but the reality is that they have remained stagnant while Ferrari have gone backwards.
At least, now there will be some real racing for positions 3-14 and not 7-14.
"Sebastian there's very, you're a member of a very select few.. Stewart, Lauda, Piquet, Senna, Prost, Schumacher, Fangio.. VETTEL!"
Because it makes the start of the race much more exciting than a procession. Obviously he won’t stay there for a lap or two at the most but it’ll really liven things up for a bit.
Cheer up.
The difference is much smaller this year. If the McLaren bridged the gap to Red Bull, it would be much harder for Red Bull to get ahead of McLaren or Racing Point when they get behind them. We'll see tomorrow in the race how the race pace looks but I wouldn't dismiss it outright.
This could be critical for Verstappen tomorrow, if he ends up behind Lando he could compromise his strategy. I wouldn't be surprised if they crash on first lap.
Both of Hamilton's final Q3 runs are in doubt now, the first for leaving the track at turn 10 and the second for not slowing due to the Bottas yellow flags.
What sort of penalties could be imposed.
1. delete the first timed run?
2. delete the second or receive a time penalty?

And wouldn’t that be great! (Not a crash- but different teams mixing it up near the sharp end)
Let’s face it, it looks like everyone not in a black car might be fighting for third place, minus mechanical problems or crashes. But the more teams in and around the top end the better.

His first time will be deleted if effectively leaving the track.
His second time will stand I think, but he can receive a penalty, usually a 3 position grid drop, should he be deemed to have ignored the yellow flags.
He improved on this second lap so he didn't slow down. Question if there still were yellow flags out.
It doesn't matter if he improved his lap, the question did he slow down in turns 5 and 7 and if not why not? however looking at the onboard there was so much dust you cant even see the LED board which shows the yellow flag, so I cant see a penalty but lets wait.
Having just watched the video again Hamilton was directly behind Valteri and would have been past him before the yellows flashed up surely. If not Verstappen received a three place grid penalty last time for a similar offence . If his first time is deleted does that mean he couldn't have gone faster? Best case scenario would be a three place grid drop rather than starting 11th
