Thanks Pedro, I was suspecting something like this since the TV pitstop times have seemed erratic to me for many races. Anyone knows what's the problem with the timers?

Does anyone know how the team orders are handled in USA, like Indycar,Champcar,NASCAR ?

Actually I was a little cautios with my question , but whatever : I was following Indycar before, say it before 10 years, but I honestly can't remember any team orders. But I'm pretty sure if this happened in one of the US series, that team would be ripped off by the media and fans, and there would be huge consecvences, like immediate loss of sponsors, etc....
It's just an opinion, I'm not sure that's the case in US, but I follow other US sports very close, and there is a very strong rule, that you can't fool the fans who are paying for your show. It's absolutely no way that a team can play tactics with the fans in terms of not fighting until the end of the mach even if they loose and have no chance for victory. It's quite common in NFL that one team that already can't enter the playoff takes out the stronger team with his last breath in last round, and then neither of the teams gets playoff position. I think it's not a rule it's just a way of thinking in US, that you must put up a show, no matter what.
In a country like US, a driver like Massa,Alonso surely can have a few or even more million fans, so he and his team had to serve these fans, and has a responsibility for them. They have to fight till the end, because if not, how can you later convince your sponsor that you are the guy who will be always fighting, and worth for they money. How can a serious sponsor put it's name on their overalls after this race fixing event? It would be embarrassing for a serious sponsor and for the fans too.

Hvala Gorane ! Pozdrav i tebi ! :)

Cast your minds back to September 1956, now. Legend Juan Manual Fangio and team-mate Tony Brookes, Ferrari drivers - although that has no direct connection with Sunday’s race - and both contending the title at the final race in Italy. However, the car of Fangio – the established team leader – broke and Brookes, who was still injured after a recent crash, pitted in order to allow the Argentine to finish the race in his car; as this was allowed back then, Fangio duly went on to pick up his fourth championship win of five.

Anyways, I just saw the race, most it as I fell asleep just like I did on Sunday, and now the injustice digs a little deeper. Although I still agree with the outcome.

Along with the Ferrari 1-2 that we've been waiting for came the victories in GP2 and GP3 from Mexicans Sergio Perez and Esteban Gutierrez. It felt great to hear my national anthem. =D>

Yes, each and every driver is expected to do their best to win. The only teammate rules that exist are to avoid taking out a teammate. But especially when the end of the race draws near, it's every man for himself, and no one, absolutely no one is expected or allowed to lay down for a teammate.

On the last lap, you have no friends or teammates.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

I suspect Bernie's given job to one of his old-time friends which is using his own well-tried sand-glass! :D

There is not allegedly enough interest (read: broadcasters are not willing to pay as much as Bernie is asking yet) for broadcasts in High-Definition, so why should he pay single penny more for precise timing? [-X

Thanks ! Тhat's exactly what I thougth. It can't be any other way in US I think. Another good thing that european sport has to learn from US, of course beside the quality of the broadcast :)

MX I saw a bit of each of those races. Those 2 guys seem the real deal. Very good to watch. Definitely the future of F1.

But where do the accurate times you posted come from and why can't they just show those on TV? Is there a problem with real time showing of them? Do they need post-race analysis?
