Stella must be having a laugh after saying this. It will take an absolute miracle for Max to even come back to contention - one that involves Piastri and Norris crashing out in the next five races. And even then they will easily win given the well-roundedness of the McLaren.

They would be foolish to ignore it. The Monza upgrade was clearly a big step up. Max didn’t just win the race, he was significantly faster than the nearest followers. I kind of expected the same to happen in Baku but with McLaren being closer.

The real test will be Singapore though. If Max eats them up there then yeah, they will be at a risk of losin the wdc to him.

In this article they say that Marko expects Verstappen to be in the mix at every circuit where McLarens medium speed advantage isn’t an over-riding factor:

Realistically, he (Max) wont be able to win the wdc as things stand right now, but mathematically he can if he wins everything. And Max isn’t one you give second chances, he will deliver if the car allows him to.

I dont think McLaren go winless on the remaining season though, even if we assume RedBull got their mojo back.
