far from it the car has speed with and without using the ductas we saw in China.
Mercedes has had lots of Tyre issues since forever and a week and I think this was a result of them being reluctant to work out how to adapt the car quickly to change of conditions. We heard forever :we prefer to let the conditons come to us and not change too much.
Wrong on all accounts you need to know exactly what each and every degree in ambient ,rubber laid ,rain shower or even a small cloud in the sky is doing to your setup and enable your team to adjust the car permanently to these changes and keep it in the window.
Something tells me it should be possible to use fluid flows in the car to tweak damper characteristics as well as ride height or spring rates/progression and maybe Mercedes have just that .

As for redBull they have to swallow the bitter pill to not have the best car in the field ,and I think it destabilises them as they are slow in realising they need to make a step to be able to challenge for wins.
Mclaren is realistically the team to beat this year but only when Mercedes does struggle to realise the potential of their car every weekend.
I have this feeling that RBR might have something up their sleeves to up their pace. They might bring about changes in Mugello. While I certainly don't want a dominant RBR again it would be nice to see them competitive again. This season is exciting so far because its all up in the air as to who will win every race. I hope that continues.

As do I. Mine was merely an observation that China's result disproves early conclusions made by some that the W03 is merely a qualy special with absolutely no legs for the race, banished to drop like a stone and scrap with the midfielders & backmarkers.

There are no guarantees that a dominant race weekend will happen again -- indeed, it could even end up as the highlight of their entire 2012 season. But even if it happened for only one weekend, a qualy 1-2 followed by a commanding win in conditions as normal as you described still shoots down the 'Merc is rubbish' judgment that came down too early from a few.

so far the pecking order varies from each track, weather, setup, and working window for the tyres in the race. lets say they all get the tyres working
this is the order in my opinion
QUALIFYING RACE
Mclaren Mclaren-strong in both
Mercedes Redbull-strong in race but lack qauli speed
Red Bull Mercedes-strong in qauli but tyre problem=struggle, infront of RB if sorted
Lotus Lotus- quali and race similar to Redbull sometimes better
Sauber Sauber- quali not that good but race pace is good and gentle on tyres
Williams Williams-not bad in quali strong race pace
Ferrari Ferrari- fernando masking ferrari's performance
Force India Force India- not got performance
Toro Rosso Torro Rosso-struggling compared to others
Caterham Caterham-same story
Marussia Marussia-2nd to last
HRT HRT-last
