It’s bizarre that Hamiltons DRS wasn’t even the focus of Newey’s protest was it? The bendy wings R105 seems to have been overshadowed by “slot gate”

Says 'insignificant force' which suggests that Mercedes will probably still get penalised

This is so disappointing.
Yes. Max always fondles the rear wing of other teams cars as he walks past them. It’s his habit :?

And people here were seriously talking about race bans and DSQs for Verstappen. Good lord these threads can be horror shows.

Out of interest, did the whole DRS slot fail the gap test, or was it just one end?

I think there is one thing many on here can agree on. This delay means it’s clearly very messy behind the scenes.
It is a farce that they cannot take a decision before fp2
I think its a farce they are having FP2 and nothing can be done to the cars. Bit of waste of time to learn things and not be able to do anything about it.

Seemed to be just one end at the very edge

Based on what they’ve said there, the Mercedes will be starting from the back. And while it’s clear for many the championship -bar any major turn of events - was done already, but after this set of events, Max and RB will be sticking a fork in it  congrats to Max. Onto 2022!

Yeah thats what I thought. surely this is easily proven to be damaged rather than an advantage gained on purpose?

The bit where Max picked the tape off

Being serious, that is just a joke and no way could Max have done anything, even if he would.

I fear that will not matter. Vettel's disqualification in Hungary was exactly the same situation (leakage, no advantage gained).
