Is there an onboard from Ham vs Schu? I doubt he was more alongside with him than with Maldonado.

About half a metre further forwards. Of course, schumacher hadn't blocked him all the way up the straight ;)

To even question that or say "well Maldo should have taken a wider line" is BS.
Hamilton tried to go for a gap that never really existed.

I´m one of Hamilton´s biggest fans but he made a really horrible mistake there.
Only fanboys will beg to differ on that one.

Some images taken from the onboards...

We can see that both manuvers start in pretty much exactly the same way:

Maldonado then turns in much much earlier than Schumacher did – Hamilton is still pointing at the Apex at this point.

As Maldonado turns in, Hamilton puts in a bunch of right hand lock to try and avoid the accident, and as a result misses the apex. Maldonado drives right over the apex and as a result hits Hamilton.

Sorry, but this is absolutely Maldonado's fault.

Thanks.

I still think that's pretty much the same maneuver only with the difference that Schu has known the risk to shut the door.

But there alot of different oppinions on this overtaking for maldonado.

Agreed, they're basically identical. Hence why I go with Maldonado's fault for turning in early, not Hamilton's for trying a manoeuvre that had clearly worked in the past.

Hamilton hit Maldo.
Not the other way around.

But Hamilton has no other way to go - Maldonado does.

You clearly don't know anything about relative motion.

With that rather abstract aside out the way, watch the video again – Hamilton puts right hand lock in to avoid the colision, maldo continues to turn in. Absolutely maldo's fault.

Tahnks beelsebob.

Well to be blunt (and at the risk of starting a war between Aberdeen and Elgin  ) all those pictures show is that Maldonado was further ahead than Schumacher and Hamilton attacked from further back and used Maldonado as a brake.

As for Maldonado he probably didn't see Hamilton. Mirror blindspot most likely.

Based on what has been presented, nothing convinces me that this was not Hamiltons fault.
