Why Norby the Hut continues;
"Where are those outrageosuly xpensive three kings of yours anyway, on a day as important like this one?"

RB responds;
" The Italian stallion didn't wanna show up in his 612, which I can understand, and the Brits had quite enough of rain as it is."

Norby adds: "Oh yes, I keep forgetting MGP resides in England. Say, if they let us keep this team for another season, do you think they might actually force the team to move to Germany so it actually looks like something other than a Brit car painted Silver?"

Brawn: "Well Ferrari did figure out it was best to have their entire car built in Italy...it did work wonders for them. I was there for that."

[looks up Wikipedia entry on himself]

"Why see Norby, look at how great my page is...one sentence says 'The Brawn-guided Scuderia also powered Schumacher to five consecutive drivers' titles..'"

Norby: "Ross, why isn't this happening now? Dr. Z asked me something the other day about why we only have 1 win after all this time. I told him bad luck, but he just stared at me without saying. You know how uncomfortable that makes me. When I get nervous, I start to eat more. All this bratwurst can't be good for my waist line. I used to be much slimmer."

Ross: "The 3 kings are working on their game plan. I've been told they take care in debating how best to approach each issue that arises with the car. Next season, we're going to win the championship. Right after I blackmail...er...convince Michael to come back for another season, the results will show."

At this point of conversation, the discussion is ubrupted by a Daimler medic to give Norby his heart-pressure medicine.

- "What happened to your decoys of a funny airbox and ridiculously short wheelbase, ha, tell me that?"
- "That all came from Stuttgart"
. "Scheisse, that was according to you at the time something you got from that Aguri-file, wasn't it?"
- "That's not the way I remember it dear Norb, see here..."

To be continued.

Norby receiving a sms from Zetsche directly after Q3 asking why the second Silverarrow not even left the pits in the final moments -was this a special "Neubauer of the new Aera trick? Btw what is the name of the nice young man driving our second car?

I see I have been debating with dreamers.

My god, is this F1technical? :lol:

Back in the real world, I wonder what MercAMGs victory meant to sales of AMG in china? I bet, of all the victories, China was most important. More AMGs will be sold there this year than the states, for the first time ever.
This does not excuse their current performance level. But it does put into perspective the absolute crass nature of the above posts...but then that's what the threads for right?

Of all the teams hurting, McLaren are hurting most. And the reason is obvious.

2) Ross Brawn takes this deal because aside from it being the bargain of the century, it gives him a greater advantage due to not having to develop a new car for 2009 from scratch, thus increasing the likelihood of being a backmarker.

3) Ross Brawn wins WDC and WCC.

4) Mercedes buys out championship-winning team with all existing assets.
You forgot to mentio, Brawn being part of the technical group that proposed the new rules exploited successfully a loophole that he devised and was not acted upon by the rule makers.

If not for that nothing of this would have happened. He would be a backmarker just like Honda was the year before and Mercedes would never had joined.

JET, can you actually prove that a MGP victory in Shanghai translates to more AMG models being sold in China...?

I know the Chinese do censor the internet, but I would find it difficult to believe that they wouldn't be able to log onto their government censored internet, and see that MGP has not done anything since the halcyon days of the Chinese GP.

I would say regardless of whether or not MGP exists, Merc will sell more in China as people in China want to experience the finer things in life; somehow they believe that is AMG Merc's.

When Schumacher finds himself left in the dust tomorrow, what will there to be said?

Thank you for mentioning that, never confirmed one way or another unfortunately.

Dr. Z should pay more attention to what goes on in F1...so should the Daimler board.

Or perhaps they already have now and are planning on dropping the axe on this failed experiment as soon as things wrap up in Brazil.

This is one of the most bizarre urban legends of all, probably spread by himself and never documented. Fact is however that MrM spoke out already in late January 2009, after the first reports of the "DDD", that he saw the whole thing as highly innovative and not at all circumventing the rules or the spirit thereof, directly overrunning Charlie Whiting with a stroke of a pen.

In all probability, MrM was in collusion with his old machine operator all the time, all in order to upset FOTA's applecart.

Dear x, I guess you're a dreamer after all.
Sounding out brawn at every turn, a man who has achieved more than you, yet you belittle him.
It's so sour its childish.

You really have an unhealthy infatuation with the man that is so poisonous I wonder truly, why?

I'm of the opinion that it's your own shortcomings that bring you here to spill bile, not those of Mercedes or brawn.

The fact is, Brawn brought the loophole to the attention of all teams.
The wording was wrong, Brawn wanted clarification and Theissen vetoed(BMW famously quit developing their 2008 car extremely early to focus on 2009, and this car was ready, BMW didn't want further clarifications).

I have told you this many times. You fail to listen.

You keep banging on about some smoke and mirrors crap, that you cannot prove at all.

It's as of you think you are the all seeing eye, the deity of omnipresence.

And you know what, its ridiculous.

And I guess that makes it the day's truth then?

I also guess that while the Honda team was busy developing their rule-bender, RB asked his competitors something like this;

"I don't know, but is a slot really a hole, what do you scholars think?"

If you're honest with yourself, do you truly believe that Brawn with his skeleton crew you bang on about, really tried to obsolete his DD loophole. I've read before where Brawn made that claim. Since I live in the American South,I'll give you one of our colloquialisms. Don't p%ss on my leg and tell me it's just raining.

Your kidding yourself.

The story was reported in 2008, BEFORE the controversy of 2009. So unless Brawn had a time machine to go back and create the story, and Williams and Toyota who where alerted by Brawn's highlighting of the lax nature of the rule... Then it stands.
