Renault Sport F1 R.S. 18

The photo shoot car wasn't the RS18 https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/rena ... r-1008424/

“To be extremely clear, the car that we showed in digital was really a presentation for the livery,” Abiteboul told Motorsport.com during a Renault event in Paris.

“I have seen on forums people trying to extrapolate things from it. Well, calm down guys – don’t try to calculate the wheelbase because it will not be representative of anything!"

The digital car is very very close to the real RS.18... it's a RS.18 and Abiteboul is telling BS.
The fiming day car features bargeboards that look bigger and have a staggered shape + 'r' shaped vanes above the sidepods, If I'm not blind.
And it's the launch RS.18.
Only the studio one was a RS.17.
Nothing really new and worth hiding (until now) in the digital version.

so im curious. the car on track - is that the actual rs18?
i dont see much difference - or any at all? with the reveal car,
which is claimed by renault to be just a livery car.

so if it is the same, then why even hit the track if its a rs17?

It's not the same but there's not any good pics to show it off yet.

The tweet above points a couple out but overall I don't think there's a lot of changes.

Yes.

Launch 3D render = real RS.18 (it's just a bit simpler and lacks some updates)
Todays car = Launch 3D render. it has some minor updates and is obviously more detailled
Studio launch car = RS.17
Abiteboul and most/all teams = smooth talkers and bullshitters

The Renault engine air intake is massive compared with McLaren and yet the Renault sidepod inlets also appear larger too?

But isn't that just the same wing as the one they ran on the RS17?

Image

Wasn't the launch wing the only different one we've seen so far?

Enlarge sidepode air intake. Is there split in two intake, or it is only light?
Look at heat sensor tapes underside rear wing. Renault trying to blow that part of wing with unusual exhaust angle.
