He had the best car on the grid. Something nor Nick, nor Robert never had.

Exactly, Williams won the Constructors champ' in both '96 and '97 so Villeneuve had a huge advantage.

I have a huge amount of respect for Robert to have carved a career from such a modest background. No blank cheques from an Uncle Ron for him!

And with seats freeing up at Renault, Williams (who are getting some form together) and McLaren, Kubica should be in with a great chance to demonstrate his talent.

The guy got a podium in Monza in only his 3rd race, he drives like a man posessed, you can't say he isn't a very, very good driver...

I normally don't say it (I think it's mx_tifosi's job), but there is already a Kubica v. Heidfeld thread, plus there is the "Where will Kubica go" thread...

This particular "silly season" is going to be very intriguing with the new teams and BMW leaving! There's so much going on: Kimi and rally, Alonso and Ferrari, Renault and Grosjean, Kubica and Heidfeld now that BMW has left, Barrichelo and Fisi may retire, Hulkenberg, Di Resta, and other may come in....I don't know where to start! Let me collect my thoughts and I'll share a proper post!
Best regards. I guess this explains why I'm not at my post!

It will follow the usual pattern. The heavy weightsd will decide first and the runners up will follow. Ferrari will announce Alonso in Monza and I expect top talent with open contracts like Rosberg and Kubica to be quick in his tracks unless some other teams panic and build up pressure of their own. Rosberg to McMerc is more likely now then ever before.

And he scored ZERO points in the other 5 races that year... so what does that tell you? It was a good bit of Luck, forget that Alonso's engine blew & MAssa slipped on his oil?... IF big nose Bob was as good as Hamilton he would would have gotten blank checks from Ron Dennis, or Flav or Frank Williams or somebody.

Kubica's dad bought him his first kart, no different than Hamilton's dad... neither of them were born with silver spoons in their mouth, difference is Hamilton is just better.

Check here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_Formu ... ies_season

Kubica finished 12th, when his teammate Briscoe took the championship.

The next year Hamilton, as a rookie, outscored Kubica.

Absolutely right!
Don't forget everyone:
1. When Hamilton wins, it's because he kicks ass and he's the best driver ever!
2. When he doesn't, it's because of the car!
3. When anybody else wins, it's because of the car, or luck!
4. When anybody else doesn't win, it's because they suck!

Also:
1. It's ok to humiliate drivers based on their physical characteristics, unless if it's Hamilton, in which case you might be branded a racist.
2. Whenever Ferrari wins, it's because they have a secret deal with the FIA.
3. Whenever a Ferrari driver is involved in any incident and does not get punished, it's proof of aforementioned secret deal.
4. Whenever anybody else is involved in an incident and gets punished, it's further proof of aformentioned secret deal, even when Ferrari might not benefit from it!
5. Whenever anybody else is involved in an incident and does not get punished, it's a racing incident!

I'm really really sorry, but I just couldn't help myself.
The topic of the thread is silly anyway!!!

To be completely blunt Islamatron, you are entitled to your opinions on any driver or team. But I think there is a lot more to your dislike of Kubica than just not rating him, just by your tone of argument. I think you are anti-semitic. Relentlesly calling a Polish driver "bignose" is pretty dodgy, you are a racist. And if you don't understand why, then you are an ignorant turd.

I wont be posting on here again a much of the forum is devoid of common sense.

Polish people are semetic? News to me... I thought Semitic people descended from Abraham, like the Arabs I pray next to every day.

I bring up that he was thoroughly whooped in Euro 3, and that he has a big nose and for that I am a racist... yes I guess I am racist against whatever race it is of human beings that perform poorly in Euro 3 and happen to have large noses.

When all your bullshit arguments fail, call the other person a racist... good sound tactics there.

So Junior and Seb Bourdais were sacked. Who's next? My guess is Kaz. He hasn't scored a single point, which compared to Rosberg's 25.5 is disastrous for a driver.
what do you think? Is simply the money keeping him in the seat?

Not really. If there's one golden rule even more important than not crashing into your team mate, it's not to crash a new car during its first test runs. Speed is not of consequence, just system checks. Hell, even crashing a car during any testing, especially when you are the test driver, is hard to defend - but to do it during it's installation runs is just moronic.

What Head is saying here is no secret, it's just painfully obvious. All the teams know it, and it is one of the reasons why Hulkenbuerg, though impressive in lower formulae, is not any any F1 team's shopping lists at present. This and his test times have rarely troubled the race drivers.

He still has good potential - the fact he hasn't been fired yet is testimony to that. But if he commits stupid mistakes like this in testing, it's no wonder Head is apprehensive about giving him a race seat.
woops! got to see this only a few years later hehe.
You're missing the point. I wasn't saying it was ok for him to crash the car. I'm saying i was surprised to see Head come out in public with all that criticism. Because he's basically degrading one of his assets in public, for everyone to see his driver is worth less than thought before. Because he's demoralizing his driver, effectively attempting against his performance even further. Because he's saying that he'd rather take a swipe at him in public rather than manage him privately, which puts into question his current ability to handle people, and by derivation a team. So it's all lose-lose in my view, unless there's some funkiness going on in Niko's contract where somehow such public remarks could help Williams get out of an obligation to the driver in a cheaper way, who knows...

If that is the case, I would expect Takuma Sato to replace him...further, if Rosberg finds a new home, perhaps Hulkenberg would also wind up with a Williams drive?
