"If you try to save 10 ounces so you can put more tungsten in the bottom of the car, that's a good thing. We're not going to lose the world championship next year because our crash structures are four ounces more than Ferrari's. It doesn't behoove us to go to the last gram.
I interpret this as:

1. Colin Chapman was an idiot
2. All the other teams are idiots

Ken is definitely the man for the job!

Q: How concerned are you about passing the FIA's mandated crash tests?

Anderson: "It's actually quite easy to pass if you design the parts right.

Though I guess you have to build them right, too.

No, Ken's got a good point. It's all about how you spend your time and money, particularly if you're a new team. You only have so much money and so many people to work with. In the grand scheme of things, getting the last 10 ounces out of a crash structure is a waste when you can be doing substantial up-front development of every other system of the car.

Plus, doesn't matter where the weight savings come from. Might be much easier and cheaper to pull another 10 ounces from the wheel assembly than the crash structure.
Grip is a four letter word. All opinions are my own and not those of current or previous employers.

Has Peter said anything about grid reporting next year, or is the silly season open on that?

- Yes...
- That's USF1!
That email was sent to me and I can verify that it was pretty damning of the curret set up inside the team and that right now, Chad's money is being poured down the drain.

You're the one claiming it, you --- prove it. Haven't you learned your lesson about running your mouth on the internet yet? By the way, posting your picture on a thread divulging Mclaren proprietary info was a great way to advance your career. Hope Halfords is hiring.
