The Idadox VR1 is rolling out soon.

One doubt: a 4mm fillet on the bottom edges of the floor board breaches the flat floor rule?

Hi,
As we are going to LeMans 4 long straigts are important .
I would like to ask how much power does have MVRC car.
I know it is 540hp+144hp (ERS) =684hp. But those 144hp from ERS are avaliable for all time or just for acceleration time? (lets say for certain time for example 40 seconds for hole circuit)
I m thinking about to do not run out of engine revs at those long straights.
For example Variante has CdA=0,724 and with 684hp his teoretical max speed is around 230mph and mvrc car is geared to 215mph so he does not use his full potential of his low drag design
Thanks

I think it is OK (K 3.3-floor )

It says an unbroken surface. I have 4mm fillets on both the leading and trailing edges of the regulation floor guide.

Very good point.
Machin could help us, I miss his presence on the forum.

Some other questions: how are penalties computed? Is there a general rule? Wouldit be possible to have the same number of iteration for everyone (2000)?

Unbroken means holes, not what you are describing

If you PM or email me an image I can give you a definitive yes or no.

@cdsavage, tks, just did.

About the rear wing guide: It's just a size guide and it can sit anywhere within the rear wing volume, right?

That's correct.

Note to self, when making changes to the car check rulebook first.
just tried slimming the car down a bit but not its protruding into the rear wing volume. AHHH

Any word on when we might get our files sent out from the last race?

Puh I am very busy, I will try tomorrow morning. You will be first as you are even missing the ones from the previous race.

Yes; Good question!

The KERS system is modelled as follows:

The recovery system has a maximum recovery rate of 500kW, and the onboard storage is assumed to be 2000kJ. I assume that the battery is full at the start of the lap.

The low discharge rate (144bhp is ~107kW), the high recovery rate (500kW) and the relatively big battery mean that at most tracks there should be enough battery power throughout the lap... (i.e. the car recharges itself at every corner)

The issue of running out of revs at Le Mans is a good point: I will check this and if need be I will simply add an additional gear to the car model so that the performance below 215mph is unaffected.

FYI: the version of Virtual Stopwatch that is online is a "dumb" version that provides the correct lap times using a "look-up/interpolation" method... I did this because I couldn't find an easy way of securing all the code that has taken me hours and hours to write ;-)

Thanks!
So we can try to further reduce drag?
I think that there will cars (not mine) with Cd.A below 0.8.

Trying the GUI. Two doubts:

1-It didn't get the monitoring surfaces. I moved then into the folder by hand. I'm confused about the naming info I've seen. What's right?

2-It's not opening a single one of my STLs, here the beginning of one:

Code: Select all

solid
facet normal -1.000000 0.000000 0.000000
outer loop

vertex 2.166200 -0.375000 0.397000
vertex 2.166200 -0.375000 0.406700
vertex 2.166200 -0.365100 0.406700
endloop

endfacet
facet normal -1.000000 0.000000 0.000000
outer loop

vertex 2.166200 -0.375000 0.397000
vertex 2.166200 -0.365100 0.406700
vertex 2.166200 -0.365100 0.397000
endloop

endfacet
facet normal -1.000000 0.000000 0.000000
outer loop

vertex 2.166200 -0.375000 0.387200
vertex 2.166200 -0.375000 0.397000
vertex 2.166200 -0.365100 0.397000
endloop

endfacet
I ran all of the through Materlialise Magics.

TIA for any help
