“Deserved” isn’t the right word... The team didn’t deserved it necessarily... If they get it, it will be a lot of luck involved with it... Both Ferrari’s, one Mercedes and Hamilton taking Albon out... That’s a lot of external factors that could give them that 3rd position...

Have in mind that in a similar situation a few races back Sainz wasn't even near the podium when the chance arrived. He remained 5th. This time the car was faster to try and get that chance for a podium. We can't deny the development of the car. Sainz was last and finished 4th with a used Medium against cars with fresher tyres.
In the end it's not our fault they crash into each other. That wasn't luck. That was stupidity of the Ferrari drivers. Not to mention so many mistakes with our strategy.
I’m not taking anything away from the team and their recovery this season... You have to be there to take advantage of the opportunities and that in itself is an accomplishment... But, they didn’t “deserved” the podium... That’s what I’m arguing.
The recovery of the team from last year has been exceptional, Sainz drive was great... But, failing to get into Q3... Lacking pace to overtake the likes of Haas on track or keeping distance with Gasaly show that there is still a lot of work needed to be ahead of the midfield... Luck plays a role and in this race we were really lucky, not only did 4 cars that were clearly superior were out of the race, we also benefited from 2 Safety Cars, let’s keep in mind we were already lapped before the first Safety Car.
I don’t think that the team deserves that podium, since the performance wasn’t there... But, will gladly take it!
