I havent found the source yet on Amus, if somebody can find the write up from the 2nd day it should be in there.

Couldnt they just make a special test just for the renault teams? The stoppages are annoying and disruptive as hell!

No, as I was asking, why don't they just pull the car out of the track without red flagging the session?

It was in AMuS live feed on Baharain1 Day3, concerning Day2...
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

There are safety issues with that. The resources put in during testing simply isn't enough to cover the whole track. Whenever there's a stoppage there's a minimum of at least a minute before anyone knows anything. That's a long time by f1 standard. It usually goes something like this,

1. Red flag.. at this moment no one knows anything
2. Wait for every car to come back to the pits to determine the who stopped( this takes at least 30 seconds)
3. Follow recovery truck to determine where the stoppage occurred.

In a normal race weekend there would be tens if not hundreds of cameras following the cars and at the helm a fully operating studio to broadcast to the whole world. Besides I think teams are grateful to have their cars back as soon as possible.

This is the AMUS article about the top speeds:

Dear FIA, if you read this, please pm me for a redesign of the Technical Regulations to avoid finger nose shapes for 2016! :-)

Alright thanks for your answer!

Surprising that considering the small amount of testing they have durign the whole year, they cannot find enough ressources to ensure proper testing. Sad.

Again, AFAIR the Alnoso's 336 was wrong; his real topspeed was 309. And AFAIR the Merc 330 was recorded at the end of the straight line while Vergnes has been recorded just at the start/finish line.
Anyways, nothing important...

Reading on Twitter that Ferrari's doing a race SIM - first on softs and then mediums.

It's only Twitter so don't shoot the messenger... ;)

Number of laps and a very quick pit-stop suggest so as well... It was my understanding they wanted to do race-sims tomorrow and on Sunday, nice to see they are doing it now...
