looks like palm beach, quite a small track but it has a long straight.

It indeed is. And that speed of 283km/h is definitely posted at the end of it's main straight. I didn't find official dimensions anywhere, but with rudimentary googlemaps measurements longest straight appears to be 1.000m. And then car goes some 230km/h on tracks second straight that's long some 440m.

Offcourse no details on setups, ers use, how hard it was driven... But just for comparison the longest straight at Le Sarthe track is 1.679m, and last year Toyota and Audi posted 339km/h on it.

283 km/h at only fourth gear...of how many? If there is fifth and sixth...top speed would be!?

Pretty sure I read earlier that the third Nissan will carry a retro livery celebrating the 1990 (?) victory.

I wasn't even aware Nissan were running three cars, I thought it was just two

Misinformation - it's actually celebrating a pole position

They're the Liverpool of WEC right now.

A friend who watch the FP at Le Mans tell me the Nissan seems to be raped by the 3 others manufacturers.

Best time by manufacturers :
-Porsche / Jani / 3.21.945
-Audi / Bonanomi / 3.22.307
-Toyota / Sarazzin / 3.28.721

Mardenborough 3:43.383 behind a bunch of P2 cars.

I think they'll be fine come quali. 500+hp and 2MJ is what Audi had last year.
And the aero has to be better, that's the whole point of the design.

The aero isn't "better", it is lower drag.

Nissan has to hope for this year that with that lower drag design they have to spend less time in the pits.

If they stay 20 second a lap behind then there isn't a chance they will win.

All 3 cars posted lap times in the 3:50s range in session 2.
The good news is, they also posted the highest top speed of the day: 332km/h down the Mulsanne straight.

...336kph according to the official data (see page 25 on the link below)... but only 1.1kph faster than the Toyotas.... who were 20kph faster through T6+T7 than the fastest Nissan (see page 23), and the Toyota's were themselves 8kph slower than the fastest Porsche through T6+T7.... so the Nissan's are giving away 28kph to the Porsches through that section...

Through the Porsche Curves the fastest Nissan was 45kph slower than the fastest Porsche and Audi!!!! Gulp!

Early days yet of course....
