I think it’s shown that HAM could have positioned his car a lot more to the inside to try to avoid a touch.

It was proper racing, so for me a racing incident but I feel the majority of the blame does lie with Lewis on that accident. I think anyone who looks at it objectively can’t be too far away from that
Sounds like a fair assessment to me. The result of the touch and the bipartisan nature on here just blew common sense right out of the window.

Fastest lap for Perez

Did RB ACTUALLY sacrifice team points to take the fastest lap point away from Lewis?
I don't think so, Perez was 10 seconds away from points at that time. However Tsunoda got ahead of Gasly somehow, I'm not sure how that happened.
Gasly pitted again for soft tyre.

Apparently you can't overtake in Copse, according to Horner...

Great recovery drive by Hamilton. Great team play by Bottas - he knew he couldn't beat Leclerc. Brilliant drive by Leclerc to keep that Ferrari at the front for so long. Perez played the team game to help Max by taking fastest lap and taking a point away from Hamilton.

Just think, if RedBull had taken another 5 minutes sorting out their car, the race would have been timed out at 2 hours and Charles would have won.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

We had probably four or five of these kinds of fights between lewis and max (Imola, Barcelona, Portugal and Silverstone two corners earlier). In each of those, Max would take the whole track going on the inside and literally leaving lewis no room at all. Lewis here even left room. There is no rule saying you have to hit an apex but there is a rule saying you have to leave room to another driver that is alongside of you (which Max didn;t do a single time before).
You really need to check the footage. Hamilton missed the apex by a year and a half. There was plenty room.
He missed the apex because Max bashed his steering straight.
That is impossible. By the nature of the contact his steering was bashed to the right. If your statement would have been correct, Hammi was steering to the left prior to the contact. I think the image taken from the F1TV image at exactly the moment of the contact shows that is there is plenty room.

There needs to be a wholesale rethink of first corner occurrences. Drivers are abusing the lax ruling, HAM should’ve been out in front.

Yeah he’s done it twice. Fancy all the crying and making yourself look an idiot (Horner) and yet it gains you nothing.
Horner and Marko have a habit of making themselves look stupid, and it makes RB really easy to dislike
Norris literally slowed down, was passed before the corner and Leclerc went off the track. Not the same thing.
But it’s not possible Christian Horner said so. #-o

Exactly!

We should also be asking why everything is a racing incident nowadays. No consequences for poor driving standard.

But you cant overtake here! 😳
Or you can if outside driver does not turn into you... 😁
...

Or, alternatively, it shows Hamilton can stick to the apex. Intentionality confirmed. ;) (yes, i am joking and probably need to make that explicit concerning the typical tone here. But c'mon, max did turn into him.)
That's what I saw too on the replays and all that comments from Horner, Marko and some forum members is just sand in the eyes...and sad.

I am happy that Max got out off the car unharmed, I am happy about the race. It was tense and It was nice to see Hamilton driving faster than others and fighting for that win.
Leclerc drove briliantly too and It would be realy good if he would win (first ferrari win happened here sentury ago?)
All in all, Silverstone deliverd.

nah perez was never in top 10 position after his third stop
On lap 49, Perez was 3 seconds clear of Tsunoda and was in 10th position (9 seconds behind Ocon in 9th). However, it's not a sacrifice of points relative to Mercedes. RBR sacrificed a point to deny Mercedes a point. It does hurt Perez in the WDC, of course.

Max could have gone off the track and stayed in the race. It was an option available to him.

I am not sure Harris would be so diplomatic upon being shunted out of the Nurburging 24 hour. Both Horner and Wolff are, naturally, heavily biased.
