So you are predicting the highest placed Mercedes in Melbourn will be P7 and that Mclaren will only just be ahead of Marussia.

Surprised to Ferrari predicted to be with Williams, but interesting to see the analysis.

He's probably thinking Alonso can "outdrive" the Ferrari to make it look like the 3rd best car on the grid. You know, like the myth that he has "outdriven" the F2012 for example. Or basically every car he didn't win the championship in.

No. Kimi will show, what "outdriving" really means.

My analysis of the analysis of testing led to my (I agree) bold prediction.

Mercedes: (still) a tyre muncher! If not I am also happy.

and what got ALO to do with my prediction, if you got fooled by my avatar, it's MAL.

Putting Merc on top of the prediction is too easy folks.

My race pace is more like everythin together, failure proneness, tyres, efficiency. Expect a Marussia in the points if Bianchi can finish the race.

No it is not. Putting Merc on top is plants eating sun and shitting air easy. It is just how it is.

Putting FI above Merc and Ferrari is ridiculous, just like putting Marussia above of anyone. FI is 2sec down on the rest of the Merc teams and Marussia did nothing else than Q-laps and is still not faster than RB in race mode...
The same with Sauber. How can they be better than McL in any case? McL can do laps during their longruns matching the Q-Laps of Sauber!

James Allen made a sturdy analysis on this:

http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2014/03/a ... for-years/
Consider the graph above of Mercedes powered cars on Day 3. Mercedes runs and groupings show consistency and pace and the tyre degradation is pretty low. “Mercedes engineers looking at this graph will be pleased with where they are so far,” says Gillan. “Day 4 wasn’t so great as they had some problems, but Day 3 with Rosberg was very consistent. They are the team to beat in Melbourne.”
Basicilly, this was THE circuit of tyre management last year. If you can say about a "team tyre deg. is pretty low" on this circuit, you can assume even less problems on other circuits.

I still do not see how he can read this from the times posted. In his race sims the Merc dropped like anyone else around 3sec per stint. This is worse than last year.
This long runs posted here do not mean anything. We do not know if they were pushing like in the race sims...or how much fuel they had in the car.
In my point of view everyone understands the (more or less 2012) tires and so everyone will get the same, high tire usage. Not as last year with the unpredictable tires.

Sorry, had to laugh so much. So can your expertise explain how Sauber can be on top of McL?

yep, really makes sense that his beloved McLaren can run in the race as fast as Sauber in qualy!

no on pisses against my prediction! 8)

If you don't like mine make your own.

... and now Merc is only as fast as Willams on the same tyre, doh!

In 13 days will see what happens! Predicting is about fun and not about what is right or wrong, capiche!
