Well if that is true then I wholeheartedly eat my words.

Edit: It's BS. From Alonso's formula1.com interview:
Q: For a change, how is it when the car is working very well and you can push?

FA: Yeah, that's really great. I have to say that so far this weekend the car was really working well. We had some minor deployment issues in practice and some issues with parts of the power unit but in qualifying everything worked well and it will be paramount to carry that reliability into the race tomorrow. First it is finishing the race – and then putting both cars in the points. This race holds good opportunities for us that we cannot miss.

with Renault 60hp up on Honda i would be expecting a win every race in 2018. Mclaren has by far the best chassis on the grid as everyone can see today. With Mclaren's help Renault will bring the best PU next year.
And Alonso is the best driver in F1's history. On a good day, i reckon he could be a second faster than Hamilton/Vettel. Everything is pointing towards a dominant 2018 for the great Mclaren team. Anything other than that will be a dissappointment.
dominant year 2018 its not possible ..exept 2 others create a big mistake with they cars ...to be little better than red bull and both very close its possible ..

Honda fanboy are mad but this quali today proves Mclaren has done its job, Honda not.
Qually times Renault vs McLaren (last four races):

Singapore
Hulkenberg (Renault) 1:41.013
Alonso (McLaren) 1:41.179 (+0.166s)

Monza
Vandorne 1:37.471 (-0.588s)
Hulkenberg 1:38.059
Alonso 1:38.202 (+0.143s)

SPA
Hulkenberg 1:44.982
Alonso 1:45.090 (+0.108s)

Hungary
Hulkenberg 1:17.468
Alonso 1:17.549 (+0.081s)

What exactly have they proven specifically at this race (not saying they don't have a good chassis)?
Fanboy :D
Renault chassis is much worse than Mclaren's but their engine is around 60hp better, i dont see your point?
Did you watch Hungary?
Hulk was close in Q and was losing almost 1 sec per lap compared to Alonso in race.
Whit any normal engine today Alonso would be in top 3 to say the least.

All it does it shows how McLaren has a better chassis than Renault. You are forgetting that Renault PU is within 0.3s of Mercedes according to FIA around Barcelona. It's a good PU and Honda's PU is hmm.. bad. The fact that McLaren is on Renault's pace despite running a Honda PU proves your point completely wrong.

Well if that is true then I wholeheartedly eat my words.
what it says it happen same as in Spa, in one of the point he wanted to push further but the software was not programmed for that unexpected driavility if the software would have allow him he could have been passed Bottas on that qualy lap

Is the first time I see the F1technical forum in this war of words.
But the reason why this happens is simple.

Honda fans: They recognize that the engine is not good, that Honda has a lot of work to do. (and ask for humility on the part of Mclaren)
Fans of Mclaren: They say they have the best chassis F1

Let's calm down or @Steven will come with his whip

When you carry out a negative media campaign for months on end, people choose sides. I said it before, and I'll say it again: Less public airing of dirty laundry and we might have been having this discussion in a very different way. Instead of "no u" wars, we could have just said "hey, it didn't work, best of luck in the future". Instead, we're here playing "Whose Blame Is It Anyway".

The excuses have started already -
McLaren admits it’s lost two weeks of development for 2018
http://www.crash.net/f1/news/882579/1/m ... t-for-2018

Next year we might hear "We aren't winning despite having a great chassis is because Renault supplied us late".

Only this time Renault won't be as polite as Honda.
