nice find Dude,

so everybody is jumping on the band wagon. Odd shape for the hole? anbody got any ideas why?

Looks more like some kind of transport protection than an actual race part. Lets wait till Friday before jumping to conclusions.

Seems they are using a carbon ring similar to Ferrari

i think they only come on for quaifying, cus ferrari are not using them ether

Here you can clearly see the black CF rim on the rear wheels.

hhhmmmm Ferrari 1-2 with ralf in third place is this something to do with the cool temps allowing the bridgestones to work better or is it the aid of the wheel rim!!!! :?

but to throw that on its head JV is 4th.....

I think it justs helps to extract hot brake air to the outside on the wheel.

I personally would be quite surprised it this actually increased cooling performance. At Imola for instance you could see how Schumacher's brakes were suffering as a lot of dust came off. Alonso's on the other hand didn't wear so much apperently.

The real gain is probably just the reduced drag created by air passing aside of the wheel.
