McLaren MCL33

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

PhilipM said there would be a new floor

That's good news, they obviously haven't shown their true pace yet

As mentioned, maybe they should start to look elsewhere, maybe flexing or that rear suspension or even try the old nosecone, since nothing they do seem to move them anywhere, at the same time other teams keep copying their solutions

Agree with the no second part, coincidence that they went downhill after it was introduced?

I think that it was a coincidence - other teams (in the midfield) have seemed to bring more or better upgrades. At the Spanish GP where the nose was introduced, McLaren gained 0.5% of lap time compared to the top (against the gap from the all the previous fastest Quali times.)
There have been no significant upgrades since and the others have been incrementally bringing some each race.

I would like to know where the 'nostrils' go and what they do.

Don't they just feed air over the cape (which is an aspect which needs updating)

I don't think anyone outside Mclaren really knows where they go. (unless everyone but me does :D )

I don't think anyone ̶o̶u̶t̶s̶i̶d̶e̶ inside Mclaren really knows where they go.
Also applicable.

That is my concern. :D
