this was a known issue because Honda had started the season with a 2017-spec MGU-H and could only introduce its 2018 version for the following race in Bahrain

Thanks Etusch. You forgot to quote the most important sentences. :D

“We are comfortable with the reliability of the unit. It was completely different from previous years.”

..... and could only introduce its 2018 version for the following race in Bahrain.

Honda was then largely trouble-free until the very end of the season. =D>

From Autosport today.

As Red Bull will join Toro Rosso in using Honda engines in 2019, the junior team will use a Red Bull-designed rear-end as well as some front suspension parts.

Toro Rosso will utilise 2018 parts because Red Bull is famous for pushing its contemporary design as close to the start of the season as possible. :(

Marko said it was not logistically possible for Red Bull to produce enough parts for four cars without compromising pre-season preparations, but said Toro Rosso, which finished ninth of the 10 teams in 2018, must still target "fifth or sixth place". :(

"The concept is no longer a secret: Toro Rosso has received three trucks full of parts and will take over many parts of the 2018 car from Red Bull Racing, as far as the regulations allow," said Marko.

"The whole thing was made easier by the whole engine question.

"The complete rear end is from us, everything that is permitted according to the regulations.

"This gives us a small advantage on the cost side."

Then it is a pity that no one last week took the time to post these messages here.
For example, I did not know the reason why they get the 2018 parts. That is completely new to me.
And three huge RBR trucks to build two cars? Wow!

Maybe this is time to compare Honda engine with the 2018 Redbull chassis within possibility. They can see it on track what they could do if the car were equipped with the honda engine. (There is a flaw at this theory. They will use 2019 Honda engine.)
I think Redbull didn't send Toro Rosso only parts. Unused or still usable parts remained from last year and moulds etc for building remained part of 2018 car or producing extra parts that TR will need during season. Maybe extra moulds of finished parts of 2019 car (engine installation department of car needs new parts )
Toro Rosso must produce its own parts. Redbull won't waste time to produce it for Toro Rosso too

It will be difficult for TR 2019 to be equal to RB14. If we consider the new front wing.
But it will be interesting in the same way!

OUCH. how many nails in the coffin can Williams still take?

No more randstad, no more Martini, and iirc another partner has said farewell since Sirotkin wasn't going to come aboard.
will there even be a sponsor left coming season?

Interesting that TR have passed FIA tests week before anyone else. The car must have engine fit done already.
Either they are using last year Redbull chassis or they were concentrating on 2019 car last year. For reference Mclaren only just got their approval and they gave up on their car in Spain last year.

If I am not wrong McLaren denied that they left development at spain.

I wonder that if the crash test made with whole car just with nose driver side and right behind of driver; fuel tank part?

Is that even allowed?
