And just because they aren't the best PU overall does not mean they aren't the best in some areas, so you hide everything, just in case.

Article on McLaren MCL34 from Formula 1
So the key to McLaren's resurgance is that there is no fundamental issue this year, meaning that car immediately jumped in performance compared to the other teams. That much should have been obvious in preseason but I guess they forgot about causes of bad performance last year and took it as a starting point for McLaren this year. Hence the surprise.

Article is fine I guess, I was expecting bashing and there was none, however there is little substance in it.

The best chassis praise is the presence of a Newey with its own folder. =D> =D> =D>

There was an impression created some years ago that he doesn't really rate Pat Fry, he never said anything., but it was picked up on.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

And what does that have to do whit him looking at the car in Bahrain?
Pat Fry didnt build or design anything on that car. He menages cleaning ladys in Woking.

Pat Fry is McLaren's engineering director. He's rated very highly by Marc Priestley. I know some people said he didn't do great at Ferrari, but he said that Ferrari were using ancient facilities compared to McLaren.

Regarding positions, I saw on the McLaren website that Peter Prodromou is listed as Chief Technical Officer - Aerodynamics. Sounds like a more senior post than Key and Fry, I thought they would all be on the same level. Or am I wrong and reading too much into the title?

I think Key is higher in the hierarchy. As far as I know you should see him as the "CEO" of chassis.
