I would want an F1 version of the old Can-Am rules.

People talk about how internal combustion engines is a dead end in car propulsion technology and F1 needs to be road relevant. Battery powered cars are fairly developed at this point. It seems that there hasn't been much improvement in that field for quite some time already. I say that we should invest in and promote self -driving F1 cars. Because it IS the way of the future.

I like F2 races and i like more power. How about F2 chassis with 1000 bhp powerunits, oh wait. They already have that in the US right?

Internal combustion engine only, four strokes.
Capacity restriction, 3L.
Natural aspiration as God intended.
60 degree V12s only.
Unlimited revs.
Unlimited materials.
Unlimited valving.
Unlimited fuel.
Slick tyres, unlimited.
Size, 2x5m.
Pit to car communication prohibited except by sign boards.
Aero - enough. When too fast, reduce.

The intent of this formula is to do two things. First, to provide real technological advancement in areas of actual relevance to sports driving enthusiasts. Second, and most importantly, to bring back the theatre.

I want to luxuriate in aural symphony as twenty unrestrained engine-instruments howl in chorus. I want to bask in technological glory as the entire grid raises its revolutions to fifteen thousand in anticipation of the starting lights, heard from my trackside position well over a mile away. I want to experience the crescendo as the race begins and the cars fly closer, corner by corner, louder and louder to my position until finally they burst onto the straight in a thunderclap-wall of sound, enchanting, mesmerising, hypnotising as they streak along and as they pass, to stand transfixed as they wrench apart the atmosphere in percussive shrieking disturbance like the crashing of a wave, like the clashing of twenty simultaneous cymbals. I want my chest to resonate in synchrony, my feet to buzz with the seismic disturbance. I want to stand awash in the cloud of unburned fuel, the haze, billowing past as the cars move on, to taste it, to smell it, for my eyes to smart from it, for my clothes to absorb it. For the design of the engineers to envelop every one and all of the senses. This is art. This is engineering. This is man exalting, proud and unashamed, in his triumph over nature and his mastery of the Earth. This is passion. This is theatre.

lol, this is an insane power trip. and you'd need earplugs to protect your ears from being damaged by the ghastly whine making it all pointless!

Personally i'd go for a big battery and a small turbine. The sound would be basically a "whoosh". No weight limits just higher crash test speeds

F2 is already quite comparable with Indy. it would be more like an Indy+, or F2S.

there is a Dalara 1000 HP car, the HAAS :D

Bring back proper NA engines, first and foremost.

Eliminate wings.

Bring back constant engine development with engine blow-ups common.

Make things a lot more dangerous.

Yeah that kinda reminds me of that video of Jeremy Clarkson recently. Everyone who seems to moan and complain about F1 these days do so by telling us what they want to see F1 become. If you vision what they are saying it just reminds me of a fast version of the British Touring Cars! If thats the case, those people should just go watch DTM and shut up!

Just as it is now but make it so you can only use DRS when you are *outside* 1 second gap of the car in front and you can't use it if you are leading. Also none of this activation zone nonsense.
