Racing Point RP19

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Red Bull like.
Nice update on the chassis side bringing better packaging to the car, providing a more Central weight distribution(Lower centre of gravity and corner weight distribution under load(Cornering, braking, accleratin etc..). This basically provided a wider set-up window allowing for the car to be more aggressively set-up for one-lap pace, while retaining similar characteristics to the previous design in the race. Small noticeable problems probably the big one being that the side-pod flow conditioner and the turning vanes probably need changing to eliminate any flow attachment issues the new shape has. Cooling seems to be rather aggressive considering the current Heatwave but radar says it will be cooler in the weekend, but you never know.
Well did'nt see that, well cooling issue is sorted.

What the reason to split the upgrade package (front & Rear)? Is it just logistics or opportunity to tweak front package based on this week testing feedback?

Best of the rest bar Aus spec Haas. Race trim data suggests pace gained is for real. Best of the rest so far.

Side pods look great. They do the convex and rampdown shapes better than anyone else, it’s all one continuous surface. RP has already won the “eye-rodynamic” contest!

Finally the "Dipper" great track to introduce it. Will help with low speed corners.

According to AMuS they couldn't produce that one time. Only new suspension for this race.

Hi,

Not only was a new front suspension released in Hungary.
Race Point also made changes to the bargeboards (AMuS didn't look well at their own photos  ):
