as you can see no big difference between Soft and Mediums

Mediums big disadvantage because they need longer to get into the operating window

So from now on then every time a driver makes a mistake and flat spots a tyre in Q2 he gets a new tyre for the race start right, RIGHT?
It's nothing new. Hamilton once profited of the very same thing. Lets not make this a bigger thing than it is. We want an exciting race, not a driver who already crashed and was compromised to be even more compromised.
Wrong. Lewis had been put on equally worn tyres, not brand new ones.

It’s a safety concern. He is starting from 8th, not the top 4. Had he not had that crash he’d be likely starting from the front row or second row on those very mediums without the flat spot. It makes for an exciting race. End of.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Yet others have never been given that same treatment. Also SKY have shown a replay and those rear tyres are turning right until the point of the crash. It’s BS to suggest they were so flat spotted that they needed changing.

I’ll give you the fronts which will have been wrecked but he should be on just as worn fronts and the same rears (or the very least just as worn rears). This all debunks the safety issue you mention. Instead he is given a free new set?

It’s the NEW set that stinks here. Please stop trying to defend the undefendable.

Hamilton being too nice on lap 1 IMO. But great responsible driving from both Mercedes.

Gasly has been great so far. By the way, is it just me, or Norris crossed the white line while overtaking Grosjean?

Di Resta on SKY commentary is actually painful to listen too. For somebody who is a former F1 driver he does talk utter BS sometimes.

Leclerc is gunna be passed by Bottas, Hamilton and Vettel at this rate. It’s gunna be a big ask to go 20ish laps on Softs whilst protecting them AND making up a full pit stop of time.
