I feel a bit confused as to why even Hamilton himself hasn't manage to even come close to Bottas's 1.15.7! More amazingly this time was set just on the 2nd day of testing...with a new car and no setup work...as many teams say that on the last day of testing they do their setup work for fast laps!

Has that to do with Bottas being so good around here maybe?? Because even in Qualifying 2019 he was way ahead of Hamilton again...0.6 ahead!

Bottas Version 3 coming up guys!!

Btw...was Perez's run (1.16.6) truly on the Yellow C3 tires??
Because Sainz did 1.16.8 both on the C3 and C4s and i was like...wow that looks good for Mclaren! But then i saw that...
Hamilton had compromised Q3 with engine problems last year. Something with his battery overheating forcing him to go out at suboptimal times and in general losing performance from the engine. 0.6s was a lot though, still.

Perez did 1.16.6 on C3, yes.

Listen to the engine before the spin. After the spin they took off the floor.
Interesting, although he also did break something off the floor / somewhere. If you look closely he leaves a piece of carbon fibre on the gravel.

I want to give your post a negative rating but I agree, I see the usual suspects are bashing that button away at my post. 😂

I think the conditions were just a lot better in the first test. The recent rain won't have helped and it certainly won't have helped teams with setup work. It moves their baseline.

Track is a lot better than yesterday, Leclerc starting his race sim over a second a lap quicker than Vettel.
His avg. is 22.91, Vettel was 24.09

Andrew Green just saying the Racing Point in Melbourne will look quite different.
Yes by Melbourne they will have completed copying the 2020 Mercedes

While track might be better then yesterday (it almost certainly is), I doubt its 1-1.5s. Look at Gasly v Kvyat sim today, very little difference.

I think Ferrari might have duped everyone into thinking they are midfield tier. Its almost certainly reverse of last years testing, so I think they will be very quick come season. Not at Merc level of course, but not far of as expected.

Sainz stint 1 (C3) - high 23's average
Kvyat stint 1 (C2) - mid to high 24's average
Leclerc stint 1 (C2) - high 22's average

Yea

Here's the second stint, again on C2s, but they were not new. Don't know how much used, though.

Outlap - 1:21,6 - 1:21,7 - 1:21,6 - 1:21,7 - 1:21,2 - 1:21,6 - 1:21,9 - 1:21,7 - 1:21,7 - 1:21,7 - 1:21,8 - 1:22,3 - 1:22,3 - 1:22,2 - 1:22,6 - 1:21,3 - 1:21,7 - 1:21,9 - 1:22,5 - Inlap.
