Apparently the rumour mill is suggesting the following voted no last night for the GP to go ahead:

McLaren, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, HAAS and Renault.
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

Gate opening has been delayed while we work through today's programming and scheduling.
Hmmm, how odd!?
LOL. that appears to be what I was hypothetically discussing up-thread. I.E., crowds of people trying to get into the park and not being allowed to.

This whole thing keeps getting worse and worse.

It's a tour de force of incompetence so far.

why can't they follow Bahrain GP Model of racing without spectators?
Race organizers can get some share of advertisement; otherwise, it's a huge loss to all stakeholders(except FIA)

The fans are already there and mingling, the teams are there, running the race literally doesn't change anything ...it's all about feelings - how the public might perceive running the race despite the scary p a n d e m i c ... it's a really sad state of affairs

Typical F1 this, making all the wrong decisions at the worst possible time.
well it is entertaining.

more fun than riding to work with the carriers.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

It has now been confirmed that specactors will not be admitted today (it seems).

As an Australian, I’m extremely disappointed with the leadership of Australia/Victoria/Melbourne to take appropriate action in sending out a strong signal inlight of what is happening in Europe and other affected regions and WILL happen in Australia.

Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Well, I'm not sure that 4 cars is sufficient for a race meeting... #-o

Daniel Andrews (Premier of Victoria) notes Australian Grand Prix race meeting will be closed to fans if it goes ahead. Source: Press conference broadcast on ABC News Australia.
That might explain the line of people not getting into the park!

Too many cooks spoil the broth. Sounds like everyone has their own idea on this race weekend should play out.

So Ferrari, having a rubbish car by their own admission, did not want to race, what a surprise ... and if they don't race then their customers wouldn't dare to vote against them

Bottles on the track
Care to elaborate? I suppose glass bottles are not given out, so these are plastic ones? A protest for a cancellation that hasn't even happened yet!?
Indianapolis 2005 angry spectators threw soda/water bottles on the track.

Very sensible move from RB if they “race”.

It’s basically a free and private test session for them.

I'm not sure that team vote is relevant to the proceedings at this point in time.

It seems like the plan has evolved beyond that initial vote, with the powers that be deciding to hold the race.

I suppose any team could still withdraw despite there officially being a race, if there officially is a race.

It's all politics at this point. None of this has much to do with health.
