Given how much of development was frozen for this year, making this tactical masterstroke with engine upgrade during the season this Ferrari seems to be something completely different than before. Bravo Binotto

Which engine does Ferrari use for FP1 and FP2? They aren't using the new, upgraded unit are they?

I've read in Twitter that Ferrari uses latest unit in FPs but can't find what source it was.. Maybe @Vetteleclerc quoted someone but not sure

Found :) so many tweets to scroll just for 2 days ago

Yeah they should :) also it's useful for assessing the reliability of the PU before freezing

Ahhh Thanks for the info!
That is interesting:
The new system doesn’t allow a return to the older specs.
This seems like a bit of load on a single PU. looking at what, total of 7-8 races each with all 3 practice sessions, a sprint race, all 3 qualifying sessions. Let's see how it holds up.

Binotto’s good and future based work finally starts to show some pretty promising signs. Ever since he’s in charge, the dynamics within the team changed in a positive way. I’m really excited for next season. Hope to see Ferrari as the new team to beat then.

What's there to miss about Arrivabene? Am I missing something? Under his leadership Ferrari flopped twice when they had a car that should've taken it down to the wire. He was also fine with Vettel and Kimi which was a very mediocre lineup in hindsight

I suspect another penalty posibly incoming. Maybe only ICE for both of them. Probably will aim somewhere where Norris decide for new PU

The ICE takes the biggest beating, and afaik that one can be changed from weekend to weekend. Sainz still has 3 usable ICEs in his pool, Charles 2. I don't think they'll take a penalty unless they're starting at the back of the grid anyway for whatever reason

New hybrid isn't backwards compatible apparently. So they'll use one engine for the rest of the year. Or at least that's the (master)plan.
