Feel like the Merc's haven't turned up the engine

Or is it just me...?
Look at my message just above, Liberty is playing stupid hype/drama games with the audio they are broadcasting.

Tire wear seems to be around 11 laps for the softs to start falling off. 15 for the medium and 17 for the hard. That means the Sprint race can be completed on any tire, but the pace of the car will be different at a different point of the race, depending on the tire.

Sprint race is around 18 laps?
HAM got blisters on the front right tyre in his race sim on mediums even after 10 laps or so ...

Mercedes has some more pace I think both drivers did two more laps than Max did.

Not to mention the traffic they hit in the final sector.

Lots of commentators silently putting effort into saying Sprint w/o race :)

Yeah, guess it shows w. only an hour of practice before it, wonder though whether that also means that will continue during the sprint, and then into the race maybe soft tyres holding on a lot longer than we'd normally expect with temperatures as they seem to be expected.

The Austrian commentators just stated that they've specifically been briefed by the F1 PR department about this. All commentators are instructed to call it just "Sprint".

I noticed that too. The memos flying around. Also DC is really over hyping how important it makes Friday.

HAM is using the rear wing that BOT was testing in FP1, hence it seems that they went for a higher DF setup ...
