How often has Lando been best of the rest!
He might get a chance in the red car for 2025, or the silver/purple one
He’s signed with McLaren for the 2025 season
There are performance clauses in his contract I would imagine. Otherwise he needs to fire his management team.

Norris is in great pain due to Mclaren's complete flop at the beginning of the new regulations cycle.. It has been obvious since Bahrain. He is competitive inside. He sees Verstappen and Russell (and even Daniel last year) winning and he can't stand it one bit. He believes he as a driver is on the same level as them. It must sting to be in the position he is now.

Mclaren arnt under performing for where they stand in the resources league of teams. Norris knows that. He will give it the time it needs to get the updated facilities online. If they still flop then, then yeah he will move on

Of course he’s in pain, he wants to win. But it’s no coincidence he signed up to 2025. The new infrastructure will be in place for 2024, he wants a couple of years for McLaren to make good on their promise of giving him a race winning car, and he wants to be loyal to the teams that’s showed him loyalty

He’s turned RB down 3 times, if he wanted to sell is soul, he would have done so by now

Well it’s like today. If the car can perform like this on the majority of tracks with the facilities currently at our disposal then we can come out swinging.

I wonder what parts for ‘23 stayed on the car or whether the old spec still has this amount of DF. Drag clearly isn’t that big a deal here and the car shines well

So I was right, Daniel is almost certainly going to RedBull racing as reserve for next year. Marko let the cat out of the bag yesterday.

After Max saying that he'll watch him in rear view mirror when lapping him?
What a humiliation man...

Good luck to Daniel. Doing the Red Bull PR and driving the car in front of crowds on streets.

Norris obviously sees potential in McLaren, he’s had talks with the likes of redbull of which even Horner said every time they spoke the next day he signed a deal with McLaren, people are quick to right the team off after a poorish start to the new regs yet McLaren is one of the most improved teams of the last five years an even with this car they still managed to bag a podium. Yes Daniel hasn’t had the season he would of wanted but these things happen, towards the end of 2023 going into 24 will determine where McLaren stands relative to the big three with the new facilities but until then we can only be patient

It never ceases to amaze me how folks on here talk like they know Lando personally and what he's thinking. "He will", "He knows".... The bottom line is he's signed his contract, he hasn't even sounded frustrated with McLaren, he knows more than we do. Everyone thought Max was going to end up with Mercedes, because it appeared he couldn't win a WDC otherwise. But he signed with Red Bull long term and is reaping the benefits. The world of F1 is fast, but patience usually pays in the long run.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Surely Lando knows that the big 3 are all locked into their franchise type driver for the long term, Max, Charles and George. Unless one if them has a big dip he isn't getting number 1 status. He can hope Mclaren do something amazing or wait for one of those to fall apart. Probably Ferrari.

Kimi, Alonso, Sebastian, Daniel

All had no1 status in a top team. F1 is a ruthless business, where only current form prevails

More good news out of the team. Not solely relying on the big infrastructure projects to propel them forwards but also recognising they need further staff expertise.

After Aston Martin’s’ recruitment drive, good to see McLaren isn’t falling behind

People have been waiting patiently for Mclaren's return to form ever since 2013. If Norris wants to leave a mark in F1 he needs to be opportunistic or risk waiting patiently for another decade.

Meanwhile there's talk of Seidl leaving to Ferrari which would be another huge setback for the team.
