Also the car has been suffering from quite a lot of understeer since the TD 039. In these situations Sainz has always been very competitive. He can extract a lot of performance for sure. The real issue is that a car with a lot of understeer will never be quick enough to win.

Trying to argue that Sainz is the same level as Leclerc or even close is as insulting to my intelligence as Binotto saying they didn't make any mistakes after every cock up. I'm not having it.

I see numbers but i see also the body language and talk in interviews, so it's obvious who from 2 drivers finds always excuses for his subpar performance relative to his teammate.

your post is the insult to the ingelligence.

ive never seen a more overrated driver than leclerc...
Fair enough. We can safely agree to disagree. I'd bet my house on Leclerc in the long run though and I think I'll be keeping my house

Who has 1 win of 161 starts and needed a team to help him with that?
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

The one in his second season with a top team.

5 wins in 4 and half sesons with a top team like Ferrari for Lecrerc, is not exactly an awesome stat exactly

It´s pretty funny how people look at stats, or not, depending on if they favour their driver or not.

Sainz did beat Lecrerc past season, then stats were useless and we had to look at some parts of the season...

This season only the whole season stats matter, we can´t look at post summer stats when Sainz matched Lecrerc both in Q and race trim...

Stats are stats. They say Vettel is twice as good as Alonso. Anyone with a brain knows that is so far from true it´s laughable.

Lecerc is faster than Sainz, but the two seasons they´ve been teammates Sainz proved to be much closer than anyone did expect. IMHO anyone ignoring any of these two facts is dragged by their likes/hates

That was an impressive showing by Ferrari to send out the season with a greatly hobbled car. Leclerc was fantastic. Sainz was fantastic.

Very important P2 for Leclerc, to end the season on a high and a good motivation for 2023. Good call from Ferrari, the stop was timed perfectly.

Sainz terrible on start again, at least he was right on the limit with Hamilton on that first overtake...
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

imo that's the first time this season Ferrari manage to outwork RB with strategy.

Good final weekend. The team improved the car massively since Friday, which is never easy.

Leclerc finished the job with a perfect race.

Leclerc had a really good drive, no doubt about it, strategy however really wasn't all that special. It was the correct choice, but also the most obvious one. Just do the opposite to RB. Leclerc was gonna beat Perez either way, because perez was never gonna make a 1 stop work as we've seen, so if Lec pits 2nd time perez would have no chance against him.
You can only give credit to ferrari for not screwing it up somehow, because sometimes races turn out in way that most obvious strategy is the best.

Good weekend, I had no hope after FP2 but looks like FP3 effort on pace paid off! On to next year.

Same. This time the team worked really well to improve, and we must highlight it. Nothing more they could have done with the current car.

Extremely surprised that they managed to get P2 (both championships).

I didnt expect them to keep their cool and definitely I wasn't expecting the tyres to last.
Someone took the right decision today.

On another front, wasn't Binotto lookin too silent/ lost in his own thoughts during the race?
