Impressed with the progress of Mercedes. You can immediately see that the updates worked. As for Alpine, when the A522 competes at a race pace with Bottas, then we can say that the updates are effective.

I am glad that the team sorted out a tire deg
They lowered the car and ran a softer suspension for Spain .... They had porpoising on the straights. They were also fast in that Last sector. I noticed that on average, Alo was .2 faster in Sector 3

Sorry, I mean "faster than Norris". Which is really who they are racing.

Do Nissan have any input into Alpine? Not that I know of anything Nissan are doing at the moment that would have any relevance.

Even Renault doesn't have influence beyond having input on the CEO.

Supposedly it's the third fastest car in qualifying, but it doesn't seem that way!
I was wrong, Alpine set the cars up for the race instead of qually and did a great job indeed. Much improved tyre deg and pace. =D>

No chance for an Alpine version of the Z or GTR? Another spaceframe Alpine but fitted with the Z or GTR engine instead of the 1.8 turbo would be quite the supercar!

I still think the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renault_DeZir & https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alpine_A110-50 is a good looking car! (Though I think the Renault badge is a good feature and don't understand why other Alpines no longer have a Renault bade on them, when plenty of historical Alpines did!)

I was wondering the same thing but couldn't find any comfirmation from someone at Alpine.

One of interesting stories going into Spain was this back and forth between Horner and Binnoto about RBR having spent alot of their budget already. Not sure if anyone of you were following. Horner denying it and then saying well those accidents that Ferrari had weren't cheap to fix either. That Ferrari were having problems with the CAP as well. They both denied it.

Now in a complete reversal, comes this story from AMUS https://www.auto-motor-und-sport. ... g/

We have 6 teams that want the budget increased, 3 that want it to stay as is(Alpine, Alpha and Williams) and Haas on the fence(Ironically). Since they need 8 votes to approve the change and with 3 already against, my Guess is Haas, the poorest team, just doesn't want to go against Ferrari's wishes.

Horner said that they might not be able to make the last 7 races, to which Otmar responds, if Horner really said that, we'll take those points!

This kind of confirms Alpine is struggling to make it up to 140M and that they don't have the stomach to spend more. They do have money to keep bringing upgrades though. I was beginning to loose faith in the CAP but looks like the great equalizer might come in effect after June.

I know that´s not true, just a way to pressure FIA, but a really poor way tbh.

If that was the case, then someone at RBR should be instantly fired.

I know it´s not true, but I hope it is. It would be an entertaining season if some big team failed so miserably

Does anybody know if Alpine changed overalls just for Monaco or is the a new design?
Looks a bit Williamsish to me – in a bad way.

Not sure what it is but the A on the nose of the car has the same frozen water/snow effects.
