With the new system no points would be awarded at this point

--- off Ted.

Why is it we should pretend to ve grateful for them even starting the race? They started on inters and still have higher grade of wet to go on.

These pundits white-knighting pathetic behavior needs to stop, it is like they have no understanding of motorsport outside of f1 and it's gossip mill

Not wet enough to prevent the start, so let's have a half hour red flag to get the track even wetter...

I think they should mandate go karts for the drivers to run a pseudo secondary race on the track during red flags (or whatever configuration doesn't have barrier damage / an accident to clear up)

FIA probably needs to change the locations of the calendar to account for climate change.

Oh, well. Off to re-watch some real F1 race from the good days. Enjoy watching replays of the exciting Japan GP we had today.

I think they red flagged the race to clean the mess part of which Gasly had collected.

No, they just need to realize there is a full wet Tyre and go racing.

We've had 2 full race laps so that's 6 points for the win. Or am I mistaken? If I am could you show in the rules?

Rather than focusing on completely unnecessary things like changing an already exciting Q format, they need to make proper wet weather tyres a TOP priority. It cannot go on like this. Fuji 2007 was worse than this and they could still race without any issues.

Agreed 100%. We are losing the opportunity to see wet races only because Pirelli cannot create good tyres for wet races.

It's the teams who decided that intermediates were ideal over wets

Gasly is a very unhappy man this weekend.

Found this on racefans.net
"From 2022, F1 will not award any points unless the race leader has completed at least two laps without the Safety Car or Virtual Safety Car being deployed."

Totally agree, it seems like a complete incapable --- of f1 now to be able run full wet.

Even change the rules to allow setup and aero changes between Q and the race to be able to deal with wet weather

Fully endorse safety being prioritised, but are we saying the full wet tyre is unsafe for these conditions?

At this rate wet weather will just see event cancellations.

What a shame for the patient Japanese fans
