On other platform rumour is a team may be very behind schedule being ready for preseason testing. With this info about alpine struggling with crash tests perhaps it's them . According to formu1a.uno alpine have not yet passed the chassis crash test

They do say none of the teams are really concerned about it.

Autosport forum. Just one person's claim. But with formu1a.uno somewhat concurring, what AMuS have said about Alpine's plans to redesign everything it all comes together..

I doubt they will miss testing or anything this drastic, but I could easily see them being the last ones to be ready.

Okay, I read it, thanks.
I know of one Formula 1 team that are struggling to have their tub ready for the first race, let alone the first first test session in late Feb.

Their car will look silly without a tub, on their early February launch day…

Famin plans to improve the efficiency of Alpine-Renault as a works team.
To be performant at such a level of competition (as F1) you need to use the potential of everybody, and you need to align the planets. We need to be good in extracting the performance of the car, we need to be good in developing the car, in developing the engine.

It's been said we don't have the best engine, we don't have the best car, but again, I think we can align the planets to have a very good car at the end of the story, and to have good results. And the work now is to align those planets. Of course, there is a problem with the potential for improvement in the relationship between Viry and Enstone. To me, it's a small part of the project, of the work we need to do.

What we need to do is make sure the people are working well together, and we can extract the best from everyone, whatever their nationality, wherever they are working. Let's all push together and let's free the energy, the creativity of everybody in terms of techniques and processes.

It's not Viry against Enstone. It's the whole thing, altogether, to continue to develop the momentum in order to make a better team, a better company, and to be able to develop a better car and then the results will come. How long it will take? I have no clue but the sooner the better, and I will do my best, with all my colleagues, to develop that at both Viry and Enstone.

Hopefully the close working relationship between Enstone and Viry with the goal of brining glory to the French national Formula 1 team, will pay dividends and see Gasly and Ocon regularly on the top step of the podium!

archive 2023 thread

2024 discussion are taking place in the 2023 threads. Seeing as the mods are very particular about what gets posted where, I have no doubt they would want 2024 discussions being posted in 2024 threads.

Pat Fry "Winning is everything. We weren’t really committed enough to take it beyond fourth place. We might have said we could do it, but we never had the buy-in from the management to push it the extra bit, so in March I decided I had taken it as far as I can and I’ll look for something else. James had been pestering me for a while and this is a fantastic opportunity.”

What's that Bob Seger song ....oh yeah .."Still the same."

Damning really isn’t it but not what we didn’t expect. I always felt like the moment Cyrile went, the original return plan for Renault faded a little bit.

I wonder if they can reignite things. Ultimately the more teams fighting and within close lap times, the better.

Who sits on the Alpine technical team now then in terms of car design?

Reports that Alpine failed the side-impact testing. (Motorsports Italy) Clock is ticking until launch to get that sorted.

Both he and Mick Schumacher will find out that Toto sold them fairytales about their abilities in order to collect a management fee.
