Great day for the team. Mega last lap from Lando. What happened to Oscar on that last run? P3 and P9 after Gasly penalty is a great effort overall tho. Roll on race!

Interesting that Lando said he messed up the last sector and was SHOCKED to be P3. He could have easily been P2 but P3 is the better position anyway

A rough calc on Norris ideal lap would put him P2, 0.35 off Verstappen, what an absolute rockstar.
We may have a tractor, but by god can our farmer hustle it…

Mega lap from Lando for P3. Also great effort for Oscar. Without the mistake from T10 he would have been around P5/P6. But there is potential for a good race tomorrow. Happy for McL 🧡💙

The car might be a tractor, but it is a tractor that can pull trough. Norris is the man to extract the performance indeed, and the car is not a complete dog if even a rookie is able to get it into Q3.

The question is what will happen tommorow though.... I fear that low end of points are the best results we can hope for.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

The highlight is to have outqualified both Aston Martin and Mercedes… Let’s wait for the race, but a good result would do wonders for the overall motivation of the Team

Great job by Lando, so funny hearing him react to P3, he totally was not expecting it.
Oscar made a mistake in turn 10, but it's important he has speed. Mistakes can be prevented, being slow can't.

Max didn't finish his second fastest lap. He could have driven from 1.12.

definitely, yeah, probably even better. Piastri was only 0.050s off Norris' time after S2, so without the mistakes in the end, 2nd and 3rd was maybe within reach.

Quite impressive for sure. Now i am definitely looking forward to our upgrade package.
Great laps for the boys. Was almost disappointed as more was on the table but on balance we have to take it. Hope the top speed doesn’t hamper our potential in the race with DRS behind

Stunning performance today from Norris =D> I am always impressed by him in these conditions

Piastri also looked pretty good in the drying conditions until q3 - a shame but good experience for him!

McLaren will be rain dancing all year based on Monaco and this session.. fingers crossed for mixed/wet conditions tomorrow; who knows Lando could fight for a win in the wet

Based on how strong the car is in the final two corners and how draggy it is.. I'm expecting Austria to be a strong showing for the team.

norris q3 lap 1:12.792 - very slow on straights, easy flat in campsa even upshift to 7th, good hug on apex in T5

Still think it'll be hard to keep hamilton behind, especially since mercedes is like 6-7 kmh faster on straights
