Aston Martin AMR23

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Taking the concepts a bit further, very deep ramp:

Looks like they took the rear wing from the W13 after Mercedes (presumably) threw it out

The nose seems like what Redbull tried to achieve with RB19.
It makes sense dan fallows must know wich direction the rb19 is going

I saw the side view and I was like " oh, that's not that different to last year, actually." And then I saw the front view and said, "whoa." Very aggressive. Give us a top view please, AM [-o<

Dan hasnt been at RB for 2 years though. He was hardly involved in the RB18 as was on gardening leave/valkrie project.

the sidepods take Ferrari concept in an aggressive way. Other than curved side pods, side pods inlets had the same concept of f1-75

Dan Fallows left way before work on the RB19 commenced. Remember, the RB18 was conceived very late on, the RB19 would have began development way after Fallows left.

These canyons are really extreme. Well, its basically Ferraris idea taken to the extreme, but really extreme. Mixed with Red Bulls ramp-down sidepods but more towards the centerline. More or less all the cars so far have taken Ferrari's and Red Bull's ideas and mixed them up(in fact, I'd even be surprised if the SF23 doesn't end up "mixing" a bit with the Red Bull), but this is a really interesting and extreme interpretation of it all! The front wing to design so heavily outboard loaded I also find very unusual, but based on the very strong Inwash also very questionable. But I don't know if this is the real 2023 front wing. All in all, I think the Aston Martin is the most extreme and interesting car so far. From the back, though, I'd say it's closer to the Ferrari than the Red Bull.

You can't see it in the pictures but in the video the front suspension looked reminisant of RBR18 ... Only with pushrod front and not pullrod. they have staggered A-arms, with the front A-Arm higher than the back A-arm.
