Ferrari SF23

how can they run that front wing with those flow winglets on top? I thought they were blocked by FIA
They are legal in 2023
Are they? I’m sure their main purpose was to outwash air from the front wing, which goes against the spirit of the rules.

I imagine if they run them, there will be protests.
In the current revision of the regs, it's no longer a problem.

However I question why the FIA would go back on the intention of those regulations.

It looks like a certain team used their political weight to get the rules changed again. Good on Ferrari for jumping at it but its an increasingly disturbing trend....

I’m glad to see a team going with a different design concept from all the rest

Do you think the no ramp and no cannon on the rear make possible to run with a narrower rear wing?

It’s intriguing that possible S-duct around the cockpit

After several weeks, finally the day has come!

Beautiful car. The fact that the SF-23 is an evolution of the F1-75 is a good sign. They've focused on their unique concept and still are confident that it is the one with the most potential it seems - like they told last year.
It looks like a complete refinement with a total overhaul of the front suspensions and nose/front wing, reshaped sidepods, tighter engine cover/rear end, s-duct and many other interesting details on every part of the car.

Hopefully combined with the regained power and reliability of the PU and learnt lessons from last season in terms of strategy in the first place, this car will let us dream of winning the title until the last race. Let's go!

The car will have more efficient load and more power.
The bottom and suspension have been completely redesigned.
First developments in Bahrain, the update program will be more intense than on the F1-75.
Shakedown tomorrow at Fiorano

Enrico Cardile, head of chassis:
"In aero, we increased vertical downforce, to adapt to the new aero regulations and achieve the desired balance."
I think this is the first statement on downforce improvement in spite of regulation change from any team member, of any team. Some theorized this is possible, but is now confirmed. I expect other teams achieved this as well.
I think very important is also the suspension, especially the front suspension. It has definetely changed a lot! The wishbones seem are much higher, but the steering rod lower, at the height of the lower triangle. The rear suspension is indeed a multilink suspension - Ferrari has finally put a lot of work and effort in their suspensions! So, possibilities are high that the tyre degradation problems are a thing of the past. Together with improved downforce, its very promissing! Seems like a great evolution of the F1-75 with the focal points in exactly the right places!
