The Driver Aid Era

Post

I've been thinking alot recently about driver aids and whether they help or hurt the sport, for both teams and viewers. I guess my question is whether driver aids can actually make competition closer. Is it really any more expensive to develop car electronics than to use up thousands of hours of windtunnel time? The more I think about it, i think promoting the use of electronics development would be a cheaper and more open ended way to increase competition. I'd like to see cars with ABS, TC, LC and AS go toe to toe. Could be that smaller teams could find a breakthrough in driver aids that changes the whole paradigm of the system.
