Apparently Williams is testing a new kind of side burn.

I hope the aero benefits are huge cuz they are funny looking bits.

McLaren seem to be running the Mp4-24 in its pre-German Gp config with the cut-away floor and the old front wing...

2009 tyres being used front and back, wheel covers still on too.
so its a genuine 2009-spec test based on the drivers only so far.

That means they are running the MP4/24 like that to give Paffet a baseline before they put him out in the B spec car that finished the year. Get a feel for the improvements to Germany, then give him the car from then on to get a feel for the car, then run him in the car that finished the year.

The rest of the teams are probably using the cars that finished the year. Id recon that some of the 2010 parts and tyres will come out tomorrow and Thursday, get the driver a baseline to work with, then improve and remove from there.

Quite the antenna.

Teams always use those in tests. I think it is just some airflow sensors.

Thanks for the links.

Looks like the teams are going to do close to 3000KM between them each day. Whitch means loads of data for them.

These tests should be televised IMO. Perhaps a little stream on the F1.com.

It would be good to see these new guys getting to grips with the cars.

Nice to see Rossi going fast, he impressed me at the GP2 Abu Dhabi ace.
