Heidfeld hopes for further extension of F1 calendar

Nick Heidfeld is a dedicated racing driver who would love the Formula One calendar to be extended even more. The German BMW Sauber F1 Team driver can't wait to see the Grand Prix venues of the future.

"I'm looking forward to having more races as is planned for the future," admits Nick Heidfeld. "Though I wouldn't mind missing one or two tests. Actually the tests have been reduced quite a lot over the last two or three years, but I hope we have more races because there is not one that I don't like."

"I'm looking forward to going to India and the other interesting new places currently being discussed," adds the 31-year old, who welcomes the intended extension of the 2009 Formula One calendar to 19 rounds. At the same time, the German regrets that Indianapolis is no longer on the calendar. "I think it's a pity because for me Formula 1, being a World Championship, should race everywhere in the world. But I think there's a good chance we will go to the States in the future."
