It's difficult to believe - Alonso

The Renault F1 Team seems to be back on the right track after Fernando Alonso scored his second victory of the season at the Japanese Grand Prix today. In 2005 and 2006, the French team won both titles with Alonso, but after his departure in 2007, the team had a major set-back and has been fighting to get back to the top ever since. It seems that they have finally arrived there.

Fernando Alonso said: "It's difficult to believe. Obviously the Singapore win was completely unexpected after a very sad Saturday coming from retirement in qualifying.

"Okay I won with special conditions with the safety car, but today we had nothing and we won again and at a circuit that is not particularly good for our characteristics. I cannot believe it right now, back-to-back wins.

"The team did a great job to improve the car and we are right now behind Ferrari and McLaren and this is something is completely amazing."

Thanks to Alonso's victory and a beautiful 4th place of Nelson Piquet Jr., the Renault F1 team has reinforced its fourth position in the Constructors' Championship. They are now 16 points ahead of closest rivals Toyota and this with only the Chinese and Brazilian Grand Prix left on the calendar.
